Most feel that Howard will land in NY or LA because he's most concerned about being in the spotlight.
This is what I think.  But if he came here we would be great for years.  Howard is probably going to be the second best player in the league for the next several years and would be perfect with Rondo.  That would be amazing.  Dwight doesn't really seem like a Boston guy though.

I think it's all said in jest because of the ALL-STAR game. I really don't see how the C's can get Howard without giving up one of the Big 3, plus Perk, plus BBD....and that seems like a lot to me.  >:(

I just like to see our big four and Dwight together on the court for a 10 minute stretch,to get a glimpse of how good  this team could be.
Dwight is limted on offense yet his numbers are way better than Perk's and defensively he's just as good/better,though Perk always give him trouble.

I think it's clearly more Paul.  If Dwight is here, KG likely won't be.

And while I could imagine KG taking a Ray-like paycut to return, I can't imagine any scenario where he gets paid role-player money to be here.
I think KG would come back as a role player if the C's signed Dwight to play with Rondo.

Totally agree. They're games mesh nicely, as well. Can you imagine the two of them together on D?

The Cs desire to get Howard in 2012 is the worst kept secret in the NBA.

I totally disagree.  The Shaq comparisons are totally off-base unless KG dramatically declines next year.

KG, while perhaps having lost a step from his prime, remains an All Star and arguably the best defensive player in the NBA.  Shaq, on the other hand, is a shell of his former self, and prior to this year, was being accused of actually hurting his past two teams (Phoenix and Cleveland).

I'm not saying that KG is going to insist on 20 million per year.  I could absolutely see him taking a Ray Allen-like paycut, or perhaps even more.  But I really can't imagine any scenario where KG signs for the league minimum here.

And let me also add that I'd love to be wrong...I just don't see it happening.

Perk always gives him trouble because the Magic's whole offense is based off Dwight getting doubled. If you don't double team D12 then you don't give up the wide open shots on the outside, and ORL can't blow you out with three pointers. That being said, almost every other team in the league get's killed by Dwight and he shoots 60%....

Perk can handle him because he has a great team with him. You replace Perk with D12 and you have some deadly stuff.

If The Celtics had the NBA's Assist/Steals leader running the point, and the Rebound/Blocks leader in the paint... I don't know if that's ever happened before.

LOL Bill Russell and Bob Cousy did it  in '57, '58, and '59... can't believe i didn't realize that.... then of course Jerry West and Wilt in 1972.

There ya go, Doc.

I'm actually watching this boring All-Star practice on NBATV, just to see if Rondo and Dwight interact at all.

The time is NOW, Boston!  ;D

Dwight Howard grimaces as he looks down at an All-Star T-shirt given to him by an NBA official. It’s green. Celtic colors.

“I really don’t like wearing green,” he said as he talked to reporters in the same luxury-hotel ballroom as Boston All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo. “It’s tough playing against those guys…or playing on the same team as these guys.”

You need a legit clutch scorer to go with Dwight or else his team will never win the title.  It could be Pierce for a couple of years but when that's over we'll be the Orlando Magic circa right now.

Although with the NBA stacking it's stars... maybe you just do it anyway and make a trade later for some disgruntled allstar.

I think you get that scorer by cashing in the asset that is now Kendrick Perkins. Now you have Rondo + Howard + strong wing asset + remaining vets and you're in business !!! I can see him here under that scenario.

Looks like Bosh will be with our 4 in the second unit, thought it was going to be Dwight?

maybe it will be too obvious, and maybe ainge and doc doesn't want to upset perkins in a contract year, but if they did play him with the big 4 it will make headlines.
