I have had a feeling since the summer that eventually Rip will be a part of this team. Would be a good player to have to relieve Pierce and Ray. Also can run the plays we run for Ray for Rip. I feel like a buyout or a trade will get it done. At the time I just thought of this deal and it works on REALgm.com

JO
Quis
Nate
Bradley
1st rounder

for

Rip
Ben Wallace
2nd round pick.

I think that is a good deal. Ben wallace can also defend and rebound. Well tell me your thoughts. Should be an interesting 8 days!

NOBODY is taking JO.

Nobody! Any GM that takes JO should be fired.

So WHo's the back up PG, West? I thought he was the back up SG or now do we all have enough faith in VanWafer to be a FULL BACK UP TO Ray? I like the deal but you can't give up Nate and Bradley, that leaves us too thin at the 1, I would keep Bradley! INSURANCE!

Guess again.

Rip's deal is more expensive than JO's and JO could get even cheaper if he's declared medically ineligible for next year.

I actually think the C's are getting the shorter end of the stick on this.  Taking on lots of salary that Detroit doesn't want.  Nate is still servicable as a player.  Bradley is a decent prospect.  and a 1st round pick.  Also, Daniels is an expiring deal where, if he IS able to bounce back and play again, gives Detroit a chance to hold onto a really solid and versatile bench player.

The only way I see to rationalize coughing up that much for Rip/Ben is that they're healthy enough to play whereas JO and Quisy aren't.  Then again, Detroit is looking for assets to replace their old players that don't figure into their future.

Well between Wafer, and West, and Rip that should be enough to backup ray. Also If west is gunna play the 2 we could always sign a buy out PG. Hey one can dream but just making conversation.

well i have a similar feeling about rip coming to beantown but slightly diffrent

the main thing detroit wants to do is save money

danny can give nate/j.o& gody & a 1st rounder

and DETRIOT WOULD GLADLY TAKE IT

heres why
lets talk money

rip is supposed to make 25 mill in the next 2 seasons danny can convince detriot's GM that he'll save around 19-20 mill on that deal alone!

only way they'll buy out rip is he gives up a good amount ,well we dont have time for all the waiting and negotiating

Boston trades nate/j.o/gody & a 1st round pick as long as detriot buy's out nate & j.o

j.o cant really ask for anything i mean he hasnt even played this season! so he'll likely recieve some of what he's supposed 2 make next season

nate as well can be bought out as he only makes 4.5 next year & they have an abundence of guards

so as long as j.o % nate dosent get too greedy they'll save a TON OF CASH

and they gladly come back to boston after the 30 days or w.e ready to make a run at banner 18

i kno most of you will be pessimistic and say

"WELL DANNY WONT TAKE THAT 25 MILL" ,hey rips 33 i think and by the time he;s on the last year of that dea rip wont have much left he'll ether be bought out for less or traded and danny can rebuild as he wants

danny's a smart guy hopefully this has crossed his mind i mean were all in this year ,

so who knows ,money does talk

Also to add Thats a big expiring deal in after this season. I mean having that deal along with Ray could land us a good deal for those looking to get some cap space.

Well, I know I would personally love this move! Though I'd hate to give up on Jeramine O'Neal so soon, it's hard to say if he'll ever make a contribution to our championship quest/s.

On the other hand, I think Rip and Ben would be very welcome additions to our team. Rip would be a tremendous back-up shooting guard to Ray and Wallace would be a great insurance policy at the power forward/center position.

I am sure Danny would do this and so would I. Question is, would Detroit make the move? I have my doubts but hope I am wrong.

Disagree.  Detroit would gladly make that trade, just due to Hamilton's horrible contract (which is the reason we wouldn't do the deal.)

I think if we got Rip I'd be more happy that we were keeping him away from another contender than actually having him.

He is pretty much a 2 so doesn't fill the back up role for Pierce. Although between Rip, Wafer, and Ray that might be enough to fill in as back up although it is still not ideal.

Don't get me wrong I think it would be a great pick up, but doesn't exactly fill a need

People could probably say the same thing about Rip Hamilton.

3 years/37.5 mil for a guy who they're refusing to play.

TP for idea. Add in Luke to Detroit for Will Bynum and I'd be all over this. Again, realistic to the point that we're taking on significant salary from the Pistons, but still upgrading at all positions.
Plus we open up 2 roster spots. Add in a PF and maybe even another true SF

Rondo,Bynum,West
Ray,RIP
Pierce,Wafer

Can't stop, Rondo!

As for the proposed trade, I'd rather go for Maggette if we're trading for a 3 year deal.  Slightly younger, better scorer, slightly better contract.

Poorer defender, but he actually plays a position of need.
