Just saw on ESPN via Lebron James Twitter page.

According to James, Wade threw the best pass in NBA history last night in the their win over Indy.

Gotta love how humble these guys are..

I hate Lebron. I hate the Heat. Don't see the problem with this comment.

I don't think it's the greatest pass either. Just don't really care that he said that it was. He's being supportive of a teammate after a pretty exciting play

Lebron's crazy. Only someone like Lebron, who "passes like Magic" could make the best pass in nba history.

Or, did Wade's great pass go to LeBron? Because *any* pass to LeBron's a good pass...

]I think its difficult to make the greatest pass in NBA history when nothing is on the line during a regular season game.

I disagree.

The pass was ok.

It was the greatest catch in NBA history.

I'm not worked up over the comment but you really don't think that is a ridiculous statement? Maybe a top ten pass of this year, maaaaybe. it was more of the catch and finish that was good. Best pass in NBA history though? Maybe he meant longest pass

Anyway I'm more impressed with this:

Might have been the longest pass I have ever seen that was pretty much right on the money, but the best pass in NBA history....PLEASE. I really despise the Miami Egomaniacs. I am sure the other 9 guys on the team who never touch the ball, shoot or score will be happy if the team wins it all this year, but you have to wonder how they really feel about playing game after game after game where they have absolutely no role.

Well, maybe I'm an Old Guy, but I think Lebron needs to remember these two guys before even thinking about uttering "Wade" and "Best Pass":

First, there's a guy named Larry -

And, even though I can't stand the Lakers, I have ALWAYS admired Magic's talent and his gift of the pass:

That pass by DWade was in fact incredible, though. The best pass? Well, Lebron hasn't lived as long as I have.

In defense (gulp!) of Lebron, though - I think we all have been guilty of calling a play "The Greatest" in the heat of the moment.

I think Lebron is guilty of this in this case, and means no disrespect to the Larry's, Magic's, Stocktons, Kidd's, Rondo's etc of the NBA.

I tell you..after looking at those vids, I wonder if Larry and Magic have eyes in the back of their heads......

Those two were Truly gifted passers......I snuck Rondo in there at the end of my previous post not as disrespect to those first four players I listed, but because I believe Rajon Rondo is well on his way to in fact becoming one of the Greatest Passers of All Time.

I think those touch passes by Larry were just unreal.

Dead on, right here.  "That was the greatest (fill in the blank) ever" is thrown around kinda loosely, by just about everybody.  Especially regarding unquantifiable things like this.  I'm sure any pass/shot/dunk/etc. that somebody will label the greatest ever, somebody else will say no this other one is better.  Nothing egotistical, crazy, etc. on LeBron's part here.

I think bottom line, I've seen alot of those Bird and Magic passes before, because they come up all the time when showing highlight reels of the "greatest" passes.  Now we'll probably see that Wade-to-LeBron pass in those same highlight reels.  Just like 10-15 years ago, I always saw the same Dominique, Jordan, Dr. J, etc. dunks when someone was showing the "best dunks of all time" and I now I still see those same dunks, but with a lot of Vince Carter added in too.

Speaking of greatest passes, although not in the NBA, and with a very lenient set of rules, that And1 Rafer Alston tape, I've been watching that tape for like 12 years now, still makes me go wow.

I don't get it.  What guard can't make a full-court pass?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

It was a pretty impressive pass, but there have been hundreds of better ones.  I had never seen the Rondo pass shown a few posts above.  That one was great, but still not even as good as some of the Bird and Magic ones.

At least Lebron was being somewhat humble.  He only said that it was the best pass in the history of the NBA, not in the history of basketball.
