Firstly, CG to everyone for a good win today.

I was reading the pre-game writeup by Chris Forsberg and this part about Delonte just cracked me up, and really summed up why you just gotta love the guy. Enjoy!

"The ability for Robinson to suit up is key for a Celtics team that will dress only 10 available bodies. Despite another attempt to wiggle his way onto the active roster (this time by dressing in full game gear for Boston's pregame walkthrough Sunday), the team will keep reserve guard Delonte West (fractured right wrist) on the sideline for at least one more game, hoping to bring him back on limited minutes for Wednesday's pre-All-Star finale against the New Jersey Nets."

Nice move by West but Im glad they kept him out. He might have been far to rusty to help us win an important game of this caliber. Let him work off some of his dust against the Nets next week.

Tommy point for Delonte for trying, now that shows some heart/dedication. You would never catch JO doing something like that.

I wonder about this.  If there's really no risk of him hurting his wrist further, do we really need to be that careful.  Hopefully that's the concern.  Because I'll take Delonte at 75% if that's the only reason he's not in games.

I love Delonte. If a team had 5 of him of appropriate size they'd be a most dominating team.

Check out this quote from Chris Forsberg:

Quote
As for limitations with the wrist, West did note that he doesn't have full range of motion quite yet and that might limit some of his passing and his ability to complete right-handed layups. But he's not concerned.

"Actually, I didn’t shoot layups with my right hand before the injury any way," said West. "I normally average one [right-handed layup] per year and I think I made a right-handed layup already -- I remember it, the Toronto game -- so I’m good for the year. I didn’t need it any way."

D-West, if he comes back and can attain mid-season form, is going to be a big help.  He will help Nate because he can run the 2nd unit and let Nate be freer but Nate is still able to defend the other teams back up PG.

I see Wafer continuing to get minutes in the mix with the first unit as a primary back up to Pierce but I also see West sometimes out there in place of Ray (not just with the second unit but like Davis, in the mix with the primary rotations).

I also envision West out there with the first unit in place of RR in the 4th quarter in some games.  This sag off Rondo defense is just killing our offense especially in the 4th.  It will be nice to insert West and see if another shooter can loosen things up offensively.

^^^^^^^^

Delonte coming back in mid-season form I hope means they can get rid of Nate. No longer needed.

Can someone tell me why Ainge thought it was a good idea, in the first place, to trade Eddie House for Nate?  I think Eddie's dead-eye shooting is a much more valuable commodity, than a streaky undersized 2.

Eddie House isn't a dead-eye so much as a streaky shooter. He's a great guy to have in big situations because he's not scared of anyone, but he had more than his share of O-fers in green.

He also was a huuuuge liability handling the ball, and wasn't very good defensively. I love Eddie House, but it was the right move for the Celtics last year.

Nate has struggled enormously this year on offense (his defense has actually been fairly good), but if he doesn't get dealt I think he'll have a few more big games in the playoffs.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."
