Chase Budinger Trade Idea?

Rockets aren't going anywhere. They're looking to rebuild. 1st round pick would go along way towards that process. They can use it or trade package it for a star player. Adding Luke Harangody to the trade is the icing on the cake.  

Finally Celtics solve SF problem. Chase is an athletic SF with deep range. His contract is very friendly. 2year team option remaining discounted.

Good move for us I guess, but why are they trading Budinger, who is young affordable, and part of their rotation (ie..just the guy you want to keep on a rebuilding team) for a move that doesn't save them much money, or give them real asset?

A 1st round pick goes a long way in their effort to trade for a star player. Let say they try to facilitate a trade to get Carmelo Anthony, What is more enticing to the Nuggets an extra 1st round pick? or Chase Budinger?

It'll be worth for the Celtics. Last time Celtics drafted this late, Danny Ainge drafted JR Giddens. Yikes!

My thoughts exactly. Why trade one of their young assets for a younger worse asset.

Agreed. Budinger's value is probably higher than our first round pick too.  He's a talented player.  He's athletic, a good rebounder for his position, solid offensive player and he's cheap.  If I'm Houston and looking to rebuild, you're trying to trade Battier and Yao Ming.  Yao Ming is a 17 million dollar expiring contract, someone has to be interested in that.
