Daniels and a 2nd for Josh Howard

Howard is not in the long term plans (1 year, 3 million dollar contract)

If he passed a physical, he could help the Celtics.

The Wiz save a little money this year and add a 2nd round pick next year.  The Celtics can even throw in money for a buy out.

Only make this move if Howard can show to be healthy.

I think Howard is out injured for another 2-3 weeks.

It doesn't look like he'll be able to prove his health before the trade deadline passes.

Edit: Oh, sorry. I double checked. Incorrect information.

Josh Howard is a maybe for this weekend's game.

If he's healthy, he's fits the position but I'm not sure he fits the role of a defensive-minded player off the bench.

If healthy I like bringing him aboard, dont like giving up Marquis though. I dont think the Wizards do that deal.

I think they would.

They brought Howard back on a one year deal in the hope he could create some trade value for them to continue rebuilding.

At this point, a 2nd round pick is a blessing.

our 2nd rounder is next to useless, so I think we'd have to give them our end-of-the-first rounder - which I think would be worth it if he's healthy

yeah the first rounder would be more appealing than the second by far... And to me, we really have no need to use our late for first rounder.

Not a chance the Wiz could get a 1st round pick for Howard this season.  He has played 8 games.

Yep, I don't think Boston's second rounders have any value at all.

I can see Josh Howard being available for an early second rounder or two mid second rounders (40th-50th) ... but it's hard to see Washington having any interest in one of the final five picks of the second round.

Edit: I do think there is a good chance Washington would be interested in cap savings. In dumping J.Howard's deal and saving a million plus in the move. I think that could potentially be enough of an incentive for them to part with Josh Howard.

What do you know.  The front page article mentions that Howard is a Celtics favor and they are hoping for a buyout.  I say forget waiting, make this deal.   ;D

Theres a chance if the Celts give them theirs. Being so late in the first its almost like a second round pick anyway.

I checked in the checker and probably an unrealistic idea but how about this

JO
Nate
Marquis
1st round pick

for

Kirk Hinrich
Josh Howard

Get a backup for Pierce open. Get a defensive PG/SG who can play with West, and have an open roster spot for maybe another SF or big man.

Yeah, I don't think they take just Daniels and our second.  Our first seems a bit too much.  I say a happy medium.  Daniels and our first and our second for Howard and their second (which should be top 5 in the second round).  Don't know if they'd go for that, since it only really moves them up around 8 spots or so in the draft, plus gaining our end of second rounder (little value there).  Still, the only contender that I can think of off the top of my head that'd also want his services is Dallas, since Butler is probably out for the season.  I doubt they'll be fielding a ton of offers for him, and he'll be gone next season anyway, so you'd think they'd try to parlay him into something of value.  He kind of seems like the most likely candidate of all the players being talked about.
