He doesn't seem to talked about here much lately, but Mike Gorman did mention him as someone to watch out for last night.

He should be gettable & would be a nice fit on this team. Maybe send Bradley and Marquis there for him?

I remember the C's looking to get him a couple of offseasons ago and I was devastated when we couldn't.

I definitely wouldn't mind him coming here, but I want someone with a little more youth and less injury history with what we've been going through.

Who else did Mike suggest?

Grant would be a perfect fit for this team, and exactly what we need at the moment ... he's not only what we could use in the rotation right now, but also a very unselfish and classy guy. I've always liked him and thought his NBA career was seriously over with the injuries, but he has come back to great form, and I'd take him in an instant.

What do the Celtics have to offer Phoenix? And, since he has turned down the Celtics twice to come here because he wanted to stay in Phoenix, why do we think he would want to come to Boston now? I would love the guy, but I don't see it happening.

I think Grant Hill's first preference is to stay in Phoenix but if they traded him, and especially to a quality team like Boston, I don't think he'd have any problems about joining up with that team.

It wasn't that he didn't want to be in Boston. It was that he liked Phoenix better (more minutes + up and down style which he enjoyed + good locker room + and most importantly the medical staff had helped him stay healthier than he had been in years).

He's a 38 year old guy on a rebuilding team. I don't think teams are going to give up top 15 picks to get him. Bradley or next years 1st would likely get it done (along with Marquis thrwon in to match contracts).

As for his desire to play in Boston, it's a little hard to imagine a guy of his character refusing to play for 1) one of the most respected franchises in sports, and 2) a championship.

Did Gorman hint to watch for a buyout or a trade on Hill?  I'd prefer we not trade Marquis unless we have to.  He'll be a tremendous asset if he's able to come back.  Guys like Bradley and Harongody will almost certainly not contribute in the playoffs this year so I'd give the up first.

Nope, he simply said (paraphrasing regarding the need for a 3): I haven't talked to anyone about this, but i think the guy to watch out for is Grant Hill.

I would love to have Grant for the rest of the year but would also hate having to give up Marquis to get him. Grant would be a great fit off the bench, could help the team in all areas of the game, on and off the court. He is a high IQ guy that can give the team what it needs to win a game. I think he would greatly embrace a chance to come here and play for a championship with the guys we have rather than stay in Phoenix with the rebuilding Suns. I'm not so sure what we would be able to offer that wold be appealing to the Suns however.

I would love to see the Celtics get Hill.  He would be one more bench player to take the pressure of running the 2nd team offense off Nate, allowing Nate to be a scorer.

I'd love to have Hill, and he would be a perfect fit.  He seems to have been getting better over the last few years, too.

But everything that I have read says that Phoenix wants to keep him as a mentor to the young guys(and as a productive player with a good contract).

Also, Grant wants to be there for the Suns loyalty to him and for their training staff.  After all, Grant had the chance to go anywhere and he chose the Suns.
