Can the moderators please put an end to these ... threads. God almighty it is getting hard to come to this place anymore and read about how bad, nasty and dirty KG is.

[Edited. - RH]
Yeah. Hurry up with the censorship already.  Seriously. I don't give a doodely oodely  if he's dirty. I only care if we're allowed to talk about it or not.

Call him what you want, but the Celtics are a whole lot better with KG than without.  I'm not crazy about some of his antics, but I love him as a Celtic.  He keeps out of trouble off the court.  Whatever he does on the court is his biz, as long as it doesn't detract from the main objective (and can anyone deny KG's focus is squarely on winning whn all is said and done?).
Yup

KG is definitely a dirty player, its hard to argue against that. Like Roy said, he isnt dirty in terms of intent to injure but he's dirty in that he looks for any cheap shot he can get away with. He throws elbows under the basket, pushes arms away, bumps guys but tries to make it look like he never touched him. Doesnt mean I dont like him, just stating that he is a dirty player.

We just have extremely different definitions of dirty because 2 of the 3 things you said are NOT dirty things. the elbows under the basket, yea that's a lil dirty i'll give you that. But then you say, ''pushes arms away", and "bumps guys but tries to make it look like he never touched him", those are not ''dirty'' things. He's not hurting anyone one by those actions. That's just getting under peoples' skin. But saying ''he's a player who get's under peoples' skin'' is too long to say so it's much easier to slap the ''dirty'' tag on him.

Yep KG has played that way, is playing that way, and will continue to play the same way he always has. He will do almost anything to get an advantage. I don't think it matters since whether or not ESPN or any of us thinks that that is dirty, he is still gonna play like KG. He is not going anywhere so I think we need to accept who he is and how he plays.

It's all semantics, I guess, and what each person's definition of "dirty" is, but with describing things like bumping guys, throwing elbows, and pushing arms away, you've just described everyone who plays, or has ever played, the game of basketball. KG is no more physical than at least 50% of the other players in the NBA, and concerning some who are complaining about his trash-talking and getting "under the skin" of other players, if that's what defines "dirty" or over-the-line, then Larry Bird is one of the dirtiest players of all time, (and I would take exception to that as well). This is a physical sport, folks, and if KG's scrapping is bothering people, I pray they never watch a Boston Bruins or New England Patriots game. ;)

Well every good player would be dirty if we thought talking trash or taking little shots here and there was bad.

My idea of Dirty is Laimbeer or Bowen. Someone how wants to hurt you or get you into a fight to take you out of the game.
Laimbeer wanted to hurt guys but also wanted to fight them.  KG likes to hurt guys without the fighting part.  Bowen is similar.

The only time I can recall Laimbeer getting into a fight was when Parrish pummeled him in the playoffs. And, oddly enough, I don't recall Laimbeer fighting back much. If you haven't seen players get into multiple actual fights (not just a shove here or there) then your claims of who wants to fight and who doesn't is pretty nonsensical. In general "wanting to fight" has always been a sign of an unskilled player.
He kicked Barkley's butt.  He looked like the Terminator.

  • You say when......
KG IS the kind of player OTHER teams fans will hate.....until he is on THEIR TEAM..!  Dirty.....not really....he has , as of late done a few things that he shouldn't have.....the low hit on that kid...old school and odd...who would want their hand there....?  The foot under someone elses while jumping...okay NEVER EVER is that good....  If anyone here thinks for one minute that there isn't a lot of dirty hits going on and a lot of them into kg....well, go play a few games.....play inside the paint too.    One of the current dirtiest players is now kobe B...why...look what he did to perk....because he was sure his team couldn't win any other way..!

Barkley started the fight, not Laimbeer, who came out of it looking a lot worse for the wear than Chuck did.

I did. Chuck hit him and then back-pedaled in a hurry. That's not exactly the same thing as Laimbeer kicking his butt or looking like the Terminator.

Ray allen on PTI talking about first time he played against KG in the league. It might shine some light on weather he is dirty or not.
