Rondo, Paul, and KG horrible tonight.  Ray was the only one who played halfway decent.

Unfortunately Ray's record doesn't mean anything now.
What? One has nothing to do with the other.

I have to ask, did you guys really think Boston would win tonight? With all the people hurt, with Paul sick and LA being mad about the last loss? I know we all HATE LA but they don't suck.

I'm not saying a W was impossible tonight. But I'd not put my money on it.

Yes I did.  I think the C's will win every time they step on the court.

I think a healthy or even close to healthy team will/should win every game.

I feel this team as it is today would need a little luck to beat LA or Miami or a long list of other teams.

To tell the truth other then Miami taking over the top spot in the east I'm not even worried about anything right now. If they can't get people back from all these health problems then that will change however.

I thought the factort of Ray going for the record would give them a boost, which it probably did, but we still played like doo-doo.

I expect us to play great every night.  Just my expectations.

Who really cares about when the record is set? Do people remember make such a fuss for the 20 000 points milestones? At the end of the day it's not as if it's a career high or something.

Man, last year must have been hard for you in the regular season!

I agree that Boston didn't play that great tonight. But I think the panic on this site tonight is a little premature.

For one I'm sure Ray does!

Instead, we had to rely on Wafer, who for all of the effort he displayed tonight just isn't ready for that kind of challenge.  The team had to help Von in the post and it threw off the entire defensive scheme, leading to offensive boards and open looks at the basket.

Von Wafer can play in these games.  He did it in Houston in '08-'09 when the Rockets took LA to game 7.

Did people not watch the West that year?

Nobody seems to remember what Wafer did then.

Oh and I'm sorry I think Rondo, KG, and Paul played like garbage so they did.

Did Wafer guard Kobe for any extended period of time in that series?  Doubt it, given that Houston has Battier.  They had Artest in that series too, if I remember correctly.  So don't act like Wafer was some Kobe-Stopper in the past.

Wafer can't defend Kobe right now.  This is the first time in his career that he's put this much effort into defense, so maybe he will improve in time.  But not yet.

The team - TEAM - didn't play well tonight.  You say they let Ray down... Ray had 20 points on 18 shots and forced Doc to go to a depleted bench against one of the best players in the game.  He did his part in this loss, just like everybody else.

To me, it would have been a heck of an upset if we won this game.  Compare our active roster to theirs.  It won't look pretty.  Now factor in that Pierce is playing through an illness.  We had 10 players dressed tonight.  One got hurt and left the game, one was playing sick, two are rookies.  It's tough to beat anybody with that kind of depth.

Of couse it did, but because of that and my faith in the team I knew we could make the run we did and that's why it hurt so much last year in the Finals to me.

No you're right about that, but it's more of rhetorical thing I was stating.

Hmm. Did Ray Allen really play that great tonight? I mean, he did score 20 pts, but it took him 18 shots to get there.

My point: everyone played badly tonight. Everyone. Those who weren't injured, anyway...

And you know what? Yeah, the loss sucked but I just got to watch NBA-history made by Ray Allen. Somehow, I'm okay right now.

PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Sorry I'd rather have the win against LA and Ray get the record against any other team in the league then this.

But you're right Ray didn't play that great either, but we still had chances to win it.

I like our chances, when (hopefully) we get healthy.

A great Ray Allen achievement, not a great Boston Celtics achievement. Majority of those 3's came for Milwaukee and Seattle.

Like some others, I'm also glad this distraction is out of the way. Ray will have this to enjoy for the rest of his life. Celtics season 2011 is happening now.

In all fairness, our injuries and fatigue has caught up to us.

We can't escape it anymore.
