I guess we will just have to wait until 5 and hear what Jerry has to say for himself. ESPN is reporting that he will address the media about his future... Maybe he will be addressing his extension and this resign stuff is just another bogus rumor to stir up some airwaves.

Sloan, I think, had a great relationship with long time owner Larry Miller, but he died two years ago.  I suspect the son, who is now in charge, is probably a much different dude.  Weird that this is happening.  Seems out of the blue, but for all we know, it may have been building to this for the better part of two years.

These may just be rumors, but it seems like Deron and Sloan haven't got along in quite some time. If this is true than I don't know why they would listen to Williams. Isn't he mostly likely gone after this season anyways?

With Sloan stepping down Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is now the NBA's longest tenured head coach.

Second longest? Doc Rivers.

Doesn't Deron Williams call his own plays rather frequently? I thought he did.

I remember Stockton rarely picked which plays to run and always looked to Jerry Sloan to find out which play to use ... in large part because Stockton liked it that way ... whereas Deron Williams wanted more freedom on the court and in the past Jerry Sloan has given it to him.

I don't understand why this would suddenly be an issue when it wasn't in the past.

Are you sure he allowed Williams to call plays before because if he did then I don't understand either.  I believe that he probably didn't allow Williams to call plays before and this time Williams did what he wanted and not Sloan.

I'll believe Sloan over Williams any day.

Maybe I am confusing this with something else ... but I was pretty sure.
