Besides Charlotte beating us the other night, this team should have no hopes of making the playoffs with it's current roster. Capt Jack in my opinion is the missing link to this unit

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4gow36j

Trade idea of Jackson,Nazr, and DJ Augustine to Bos
Nate,JO,BBD and Bradley to Charlotte

Jordan saves a year off Jack's salary, gets Big Baby to work into his lineup, and gets some flexibility to sign a player in 2012 to help that team

Boston - no more Nate (YAY!) a real 6th man that can fill in the starting unit if need be and score buckets plus assists and play solid D(jackson) Dj is a legit pg that has 3point range consistently now. And Nazr Mohammad is a great rebounder, especially on the offensive end. Blocks shot too.
We also open up a roster spot to sign another PF, say Sheed or Sean Williams or whoever. Jordan could even buy out JO if we supplied a draft pick or cash.

Rondo, DJ, West
Ray, Wafer, Quis
Pierce, Jackson
KG, JO(Sheed/Free Agent)
Perk,Shaq,Semih
Can't stop, Rondo!

Unlikely.  If we managed to pull it off we would get an upgrade at our SF, C, and possibly PG positions.  It would leave a gaping hole at PF though.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I really like the trade b/c financially it makes sense for Charlotte and you agree its an upgrade at all 3 positions. So we're thin at PF?

Jamison will not be traded before the deadline. Out of respect, he will be bought out and could and should resign with us. He'd be better here as a 2nd or 3rd option off the bench rather than a no 2 guy in Cleveland next to LeBonkers.

As for him being a target for the Hornets makes no sense b/c they won't make it out of the 1st round like usual.
Can't stop, Rondo!

TP!
This is not a crazy idea (so many posted) which would make sense in more than a few ways
I'm thinking Davis is going to highest bidder come FA so you could move him to get a return (but he is very important to us) Nazr is a rebounder, more than Davis but doesn't have his jump shot range or charge taking ability
Nate to me is useless with delonte back contributing
I don't see charlotte letting dj be part of this though, unless they think bradley would be an eventual starting nba pg?
Jackson would be a huge upgrade over marquis (sorry buddy) even with the T's, he is a legit 6th moy and can give us minutes at 2 posistions

jordan=not a very good gm so you never know

Not a bad idea.
Since the trade is a 4 for 3, that opens up a spot on the Cs roster for a backup up PF (Sheed? Antoine Walker?)

That said, I think a safer bet RE: DA's plans will be to cut Quisy and sign a FA (Udoka?)

Why does CHA part with DJ? And I don't think Cs need him.

Also if Ainge is willing to take on the 2x8 left on Jackson's deal, he can probably make some other move. I think right now he's limited by keeping flexibility for a possible Dwight signing.

I would ove to acquire DJ and Jackson, but I am not willing to part with BBD in any trade short of getting back LaMarcus Aldridge.

Pretty good trade. Except one issue, HELL NO to trading big baby. Baby is Celtics 6th man. The only backup PF on this team. The one of most consistent player on this team. Lead in the NBA in chargers. Too much value on this team.

I dont understand how everyone is giving this a "pretty good trade" label... Why would the Bobcats trade 2 starters and a decent back up big for 2 bench players, an injured aging player with another year on his contract and a guy who has spent most of his season in the NBDL? Come on guys, you gotta think both sides.

If this team give up Glen Davis in the middle of the year there's no way they win the title. He's been the only big to play consistent time throughout the year.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
love the idea of getting jackson but hate the idea of getting rid of baby.
He's (baby) the best 6th man in the NBA and we won't win it all this year without him.
Ainge is not giving up baby until the season is over.
Could work out next year somehow.
Lets hope we get a sweet pick in the draft and build up another monster at the PF backup spot.
Jackson and west would be a great back up tandem tho.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
