Back up SF for Paul Pierce Defensive stopper and Kobe Killer. The numbers work out and if JO is untradeable then we could just put Nate in his place and the numbers still work.

Why in the world would the Rockets give up the best player and take on the biggest contract in a deal?

The Rockets are only trading Battier if they can get a real asset for him.

I actually like what Daniels brings to the table.   I like Battier too but Daniels is younger I believe and has very solid all-around game.  Defends, can play some PG if needed and has a really good ability to put the ball in the basket on his moves to the hoop.

If we could get Battier for Nate and Luke (not sure about the salaries) I'd do it.  I'm not saying Daniels is better than Battier by any means but I think his overall skillset is a better fit right now.

I'd rather have Daniels. At this point JO is just dead weight, hes useless to the C's and the rest of the league, he has zero value. He needs to hang up his sneakers mid season because he wont be seeing an ounce of playing time in the playoffs unless one of our bigs gets in foul trouble.

Shaq/Perk at C
KG/Baby at PF

There isnt going to be any minutes for J.O. he was brought here as "big man insurance" and Perkins is back which makes J.O. a benchwarmer.

While Battier on this team would make us a championship team without a doubt imo I would try and keep Daniels as he can give us minutes at THREE posistions.  Houston is not dead so I can't see them trading Battier for anything except a center or a no brainer.
wait :o
Semih & Nate for Battier.

Not gonna work. With either Nate or Jo.

Definitely the type of player we need, a defensive wing who can knock down 3s, but not sure how we can get him.

I think we need to hope that Bradley starts tearing it up in the D-League and then package him with JO.

GAHHH thread titles that makes things look like reality.

I got excited.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Anyone who wouldn't do this is nuts. Shane would be a perfect player here. Can defend the 2 and 3, and knock down open and contested 3's. Daniels is good and won't be mad if he is still on the team at the end of the year but doesn't seem to show up at all sometimes. With Delonte and Nate as our back up wings with someone like Shane would be amazing. Shooters all over and could advance a 6 point game to a 14 point game like that.

Unless they happen to root for the Rockets.

My point was from our side. People saying they would rather have Daniels are nuts. Of course this is a bad idea for Rockets but just saying on our part it would be great.

Hard to see how/why the Rockets do that trade.

And call me the optimist, but I see us getting some miles out of JO in the playoffs.  He and Shaq can potentially tag team as back-up to Perk - they don't have to necessarily play every game, and when called upon, provide 15-20 mins/game.  JO should be able to handle that (touch wood).

I did like the Nate for Pietrus (spell?) idea put forth in another thread.  When DWest comes back, we have both he and Marquis to back up the 1, and both are better suited to that than Nate.  Pietrus gives us a real back-up 3, who can play solid D on bigger wings behind PP, and hit the corner 3.

Houston would have to be brain dead to do that deal. No one is taking JO

Man I thought the Shane Battier trade threads were done up until this one came out.
