Nate for Al Thornton and Hilton Armstrong

I have always like the defense that Al T. plays.  I don't like his shot selection, but our vets can keep that in check!!  Also, Al's contract for next year is a team option.

Hilton just makes the salaries work.  His contract is up at the end of the year anyway.  We can get a free look/see at him for the last 35 or so games.

Why for Washington? they already have two good point guards. Do they really need a lousy third one?

I never thought of Thornton as a defensive player, just a volume shooter.  didn't see anything in the Washington game recently to suggest otherwise.  Also didn't see much out of him that looked terribly impressive either

A couple of years ago this trade would have been completely laughed at (for the other side). Ainge probably still likes Thornton and Armstrong is another high pick big man that just didn't quite work out...but who knows? I think picking Sheed up still makes the most sense.

Agreed -- weak defender -- Al Thornton had the odd flash of defensive ability as a rookie but overall, and since then, he has been a very weak defensive player.

Not a fan of Hilton Armstrong either.

I can't stand Nate, but I wouldn't do this deal because it doesn't make the C's much better. Not a fan of Thornton.
