Pierce doesn't understand the tools he's working with then, or maybe you're quoting faulty sources..nobody besides Lowry on that roster that gets 20 mins + is anything less than a major rotation player for a playoff team.

Nate Robinson is a major rotation player on a contender, I'm sure Pierce would be ticked if he was traded to a team where Nate was the starter.  ;D

Well yeah, but Lowry/Fields/Ibaka/Bogut are a pretty far cry from Nate Robinson.

Yeah, but as KC said, you can't take a bunch of 4th options and expect them to perform like 2nd options.  Your team will be good defensively, but it's going to struggle to score.  I'd be pretty surprised if you finished much above .500, and I see the potential to fall quite a bit short of that.

They remind me a lot of the Heat from last year with a better center but with a wing player who isn't capable of dominating 1 on 5 anymore.

Which one of your PG is going to be a SG?

Still have the same issue with three PFs that are way to similar in their game while not having a blue collar big man.

See I'm not getting that, it sounds nice but it doesn't make sense to me. I might just not understand the terminology as you guys are using it.

Who is the Celtics' first consistent option on offense?

Who is their second option?

Who is their third option?

Its not like every time down, Rondo swings the ball to Pierce and if Pierce doesn't like his shot he swings it to KG or something...its pretty complicated.

In that vain, I see Paul Pierce who is capable at any time of creating his own shot, as well as spotting up for a 3.

I see Kyle Lowry, who can put the ball on the floor and draws fouls as well as any PG, can hit a 3pter, along with having a top 10 ast ratio in the league.

Landry Fields, a guy who can hit a 3, and finish around the rim, but also a guy who is good at making sure the offense moves fluidly, makes smart passes, and gets the offense second chances with solid rebounding numbers

I see Andrew Bogut, a guy who you can dump the ball down low to that is capable of scoring on any possession, and a guy who passes well out of the post when he has someone to pass to.

Serge Ibaka, an athletic finisher at the rim who is as good at spotting up for a mid-range jumper as Kevin Garnett.

and the list goes on...Reggie WIlliams creates his own shot and still hits a nice deep ball, Stevenson, a guy who has completely reformed himself as a spot up 3pt shooter at over 40%, Hansbrough a scoring energetic 4

I don't know about 1st or 2nd options, but the Bucks have a lot of guys who can score in the right roles. In this role, Pierce is the primary scorer, or the primary option. Bogut would be the secondary option, and probably Lowry or Fields driving to the hoop would be the third. I don't see why that's not feasible for an effective offense.

At a first glance - need to compare them to other team's benches for true assessment - your bench looks weak to me.

Not sure any of those players are above average for their respective positions.

I wouldn't have DeShawn Stevenson in your rotation. I would use him as a deep reserve.

I think Reggie Williams is probably an above average backup two guard and fits in well alongside Fields and Pierce (both can play SF and defend + rebound at an average to above average level there). So I would only go three deep on the wings. I think that would strengthen your rotation a fair bit (dropping Stevenson).

I rate Jerryd Bayless as a poor backup lead guard. He has very nice potential and in another year, or two, I think Bayless can be a top backup guard or solid starter as a scoring PG who plays solid defense. A potential future sixth man of the year candidate. However, in this moment in time, I regard Bayless as a weak rotation player.

I am not high on Drew Gooden. I think he has done more damage than good on all of his recent teams. Tyler Hansbrough is a decent backup PF but I would guess he's somewhere in the 13th-22nd range in terms of backup PFs. A fairly average backup PF.

So in conclusion, I don't see your bench adding much value to your squad.

I think playing .500 ball will be a struggle.

I think what Roy and I are getting at is that these players score well in the roles they're in on their current teams because they are surrounded by superior scorers. Landry Fields gets open looks because defense's have to account for Amar'e, Gallo, Felton and Chandler with double teams and quick shifts.Ibaka scores because of the attention Durnat, Westbrook and Green attract. On this team I don't see many offensive threats that cause a defensive team to rotate or double team. For example with my Grizz, I'd have Marc Gasol man up against Bogut and the only person I'd consider doubling would be Pierce and even then I'd be okay with Deng and Gay Isoed on him. Offensively this team reminds me of the 2007 Celtics in that It's Pierce playing with solid low post threat but facing great difficulty getting everyone else open. But far superior defensively.
