Gortat says Nash is better than Rondo

It makes sense that a guy like Gortat who clearly doesn't understand the importance of defense wouldn't realize that Rondo is way better than Nash because of his defense and rebounding.

Though Nash and Rondo are both capable of getting a double-double on almost every single night because of their play-making abilities Rajon Rondo is a more defensive-oriented point guard as evidenced by his being selected to the All-Defensive First Team in 2010 and the All-Defensive Second Team in 2009. Steve Nash and Rajon Rondo both shoot a high field goal percentage for point guards, though Nash is a better 3 point shooter and he shoots way better from the foul line than Rajon does.

Steve Nash has won the league Most Valuable Player award twice while Rajon Rondo has won an NBA championship before.

IMO it's hard to tell who's better, though Rondo is much younger than Nash is.

Three or four years ago i would say no question. Two time MVP, a guy who makes each teammate significantly better and the system better while also leading the team and scoring at the same time. Rondo is an amazing passer and an amazing defender, but hes got three HOFers on his team to carry most of the load. It plans out to be an interesting debate.

I have absolutely no problem with what Gortat said.  He must feel like a kid in a candy store.  It's not like he said Goran Dragic is better than Rondo. 
Plus, you're supposed to say your teammate is the one you prefer.

Ah, makes much more sense.  I don't agree with Gortat but I watched that game and if I was him I'd feel the same.  He's setting career highs like every other game and Nash is a huge part of it. 

Nice to see him getting some real minutes and finally being able to reach his potential.  Picking him up off the waiver wire in my fantasy league didn't hurt either 

i didnt get it either at first. But i feel nash is obviously amazing. Rondo is great as well, rondo does not have as much experience.. and as he gets more he will get better and better.

Offensively Nash is probably the better player.  Defensively Rondo takes it and over all Rondo takes it.  I don't have an issue with it.  Nash is the best player Gortat has prob ever played with.

I'm not sure a guy like Marcin Gortat giving his opinion on who the best point guard in the league is- carries enough weight to have its own thread.

I mean he has played with Jameer Nelson & Steve Nash. 

That's like going to California & Arkansas- then determining California is the best state in the nation.

Sounds like gortat is trying to get in good in the new team...maybe a little brown NASH on gortats nose now..?  How many championships does nash have now..?   The best....is always hard to measure...be the best for your team.....make it work where you are....!

I don't care what anyone says but Rondo is still not as good as Nash.
He has some fundamental flaws on offense that need serious work if he ever wants to be considered on Nash's level in 10 years time.
Nash's defense is weak but he is one of the greatest point guards of all time- some would argue the greatest offensive point guard of all time.
Gortat is a defensively orientated player aswell.
He has been in the media ever since joining the suns complaining about the suns lack of defensive structure and how it needs to improve. He continually states the importance of defense in interviews. I really don't know how you came to the assertion that he has no idea about defense.

Don't let the green light blind you.
Ask yourself honestly if about Nash vs Rondo...
Rondo still has a good 10 years left in him to become the greatest PG of all time but right now Nash is way ahead of him.
