Gortat says Nash is better than Rondo

  The thing about Nash is he seems to be playing significantly better than he has over the last few years. We're still probably better off with Rondo, especially in the playoffs.

The thing about comparing and contrasting two or more point guards is....people usually cannot seperate their own ideals and things that they like. So, what do you do here, compare rondo today with nash today..? Odd, nash has been in the league way longer = more experience. Then compare rondo with nash, at the same pace, we had rondo in the nba now ..what 4 years...compare that way then. Nash at 4 years.....Nash is good and fast, but he doesn't play D, which will wear a guys O out......

   In short, I'd say Rondo is better than anyone in the nba right now..some say rose, i say hahhahaha, take away roses 8 million fouls he gets just for having the ball..we here all know rondo NEVER gets to the line...but always gets whacked hard..if rose was treated the same way, he would be way below rondo..more than 1/2 roses points come from the line, and are not deserved free-bees.. Nash shoots better, but that is all. Poor nash doesn't get fouls called much either...and this time I'll let the ref thing go....

Nash is awesome but his complete lack of D is what ultimately puts him behind Rondo.

Offensively, Nash is much better than Rondo, imo. He might not be as quick, but he's got terrific range, and all sorts of high-percentage runners and awkward layups. Rondo's got a few tricks of his own too but for some reason, i always feel like it's going in with Nash. like it's almost routine for him. The Celtics would be an offensive juggernaut for the ages if we had Nash in our starting 5.

I've been hard on Nash's lack of defense for years, but look at his teammates.  No one on that team plays defense.  If Nash and Rondo switched places, Nash's defense would be much much better then it is now.  I don't think he would be at Rondo's level, but he would be much closer to him then Rondo is to Nash's offense.  Nash is a better player then Rondo is right now, but if I'm starting a team or something like that I take Rondo who is much younger.

“Rajon Rondo is a great point guard, but he isn’t better than Steve. As many passes as he gave me today I think I had so many passes the entire season a couple years ago. It’s just a great feeling to play with him. I think we’re doing a tremendous job right now together.”

But, what do they know? I prefer our point guard.

In regards to Nash's defense, remember this is a guy who had his former coach fired because he wanted the team to play defense.  Steve was like, "defense?  That's not what we do around here, bro. No thanks to the whole D thing"

Nash certainly does more with less, and is a better shooter and equal if not slightly better passer.  At this stage of the game though, you gotta choose Rondo due to the age differntial.

It makes sense that a guy like Gortat who clearly doesn't understand the importance of defense wouldn't realize that Rondo is way better than Nash because of his defense and rebounding.

He has been in the media ever since joining the suns complaining about the suns lack of defensive structure and how it needs to improve. He continually states the importance of defense in interviews. I really don't know how you came to the assertion that he has no idea about defense.

Not sure how complaining about the lack of defense counts for anything. What player hasn't done that?
