Gortat after last night:

Quote
“Rajon Rondo is a great point guard, but he isn’t better than Steve. As many passes as he gave me today I think I had so many passes the entire season a couple years ago. It’s just a great feeling to play with him. I think we’re doing a tremendous job right now together.”

Classic quote from Okafor last night after the Suns beat the Hornets:

Quote
“Rajon Rondo is a great point guard, but he isn’t better than Steve. As many passes as he gave me today I think I had so many passes the entire season a couple years ago. It’s just a great feeling to play with him. I think we’re doing a tremendous job right now together.”

Tremendous.

Maybe I'm a little slow, cuz I don't get it.

Did a reporter ask him who the best point guard is: Rondo or Nash, and then Okafor's comment sarcastically means something like how can you ask me that when I play with Chris Paul?

Or, did Nash make a couple of bad passes that went right to Okafor?

I guess I need a little more context than just the quote.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I think that quote came from Gortat...

Gortat says Nash is better than Rondo (corrected)

And I'm a complete idiot. Apologies everybody. It's from Gortat. I misread what a blog post said. I knew it didn't make sense.

Ah, makes much more sense.  I don't agree with Gortat but I watched that game and if I was him I'd feel the same.  He's setting career highs like every other game and Nash is a huge part of it.

Nice to see him getting some real minutes and finally being able to reach his potential.  Picking him up off the waiver wire in my fantasy league didn't hurt either  :)

I'd expect him to say that, it's his team mate.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
It makes sense that a guy like Gortat who clearly doesn't understand the importance of defense wouldn't realize that Rondo is way better than Nash because of his defense and rebounding.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Rondo, I hope you read that and listen to it closely.

I hope that next time we play them, you show Gortw** and Nash, who rondo really is.

This should be used as a motivational tool, not excluding the bad loss we had the other night.

This might come in handy next go around.

Good luck Mr. Gortw**.

Thank you for opening your trap. You seem to be talking way too much these last few days.

Eh, I think he's just elated to be playing with a guy who feeds him the ball for lots of easy buckets.  New Orleans is an excellent defensive team and Nash/Gortat picked them apart.  Also it's not like Rondo blew the doors off the place on Friday night or anything.

I hate Gortat.  Is there a single player in the league that plays the Celtics better than him?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
