with the 17th pick of the 7th round Denver selects Johnny Flynn!

I still can't believe the Twolves passed up Steph Curry for Flynn.  I was at that draft, and I was just flabbergasted, as was basically everyone else in attendance.

Is the draft worth going to Roy? One of my favorite times of the year and I've thought more recently that maybe i should try and go one time.

how much are tix?

This was a really hard pick, plenty of quality players left up there, but Utah would like some more D and feels its tattoo to skin ratio is below that of a contender team, thus with it's 18th pick, Utah selects

Matt Barnes
Pick 2 Draft:

Salt Laker Flappers

PG: Jameer Nelson/ Mike Bibby/ Pooh Jeter
SG: Jason Richardson/ J.R. Smith
SF: Caron Butler/ J.R. Smith / Matt Barnes PF: Zach Randolph/ Ike Diogu/ Nenad Kristic C: Joakim Noah/ Nenad Kristic/ Tony Battie/ Ike Diogu

Solid.  Folks from Salt Lake do like their tattoos.

In a deadly move I learned from years of CB Draft training I am offering my 8th, 9th and 10th round picks for a 7th rounder - at least until the player I want comes off the board.

Interesting.  I'm curious to see who this player is.

8.25, 9.25, 10.25 for a 7th round pick. Our motto: "You could do worse."

I'm not sure how much the tix cost, because I was CB's "press" representative.  It's a fun time and worth going to at least once, I'd say.  Definitely not as fun as a game, but cool to see all the draftees up close.

And you can join in the fun and mercilessly heckle the Knicks' first round pick.

Poor Jordan Hill and Danilo Gallinari.

Last time I went tickets were $15. And I believe they are only available day of.

Yeah, you should have seen the Knicks fans.  After both Rubio and Curry started to slide, they were sure they'd end up with one of them.  To get Jordan Hill was a stomach punch, which was sort of perversely fun to watch.

Best part of the draft, though, by far was hanging out with the immortal Steve Weinman and going out for NY pizza afterward.

Since we're is a slowdown has anyone else seen this -- fun hoops time killer:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/elo.cgi

Quote
This is a community-based project with the goal of rating the best players in NBA history. In the matchup below, choose the player who you believe was the better player. It is up to you to determine how much weight to give to offense versus defense, peak value versus career value, regular season versus playoffs, etc.

2 players are selected for you -- who have relatively similar stats --  with their full stats (including advanced stats like PER and Win Shares) and you vote for the better player.

Your vote then affects the expected vote the next time the player "plays" an opponent.

Makes me wi****ll (<-- odd this word is redacted.... pine for/miss/etc) for when BB-ref used to list "similar seasons/careers" for a player --- loved seeing some out-of-the-box comparisons.

Some recent choices I was given:
------
Jerome Kersey vs. John Starks
Sid Moncrief vs. Bill Walton (moncrief actually has better stats...)
Horace Grant vs. Kirilenko
Antonio Daniels vs. James Posey (also closer than you'd think on first pass)

Saw that too - it's the sequence of letters that got taken out that the filter doesn't like.

That's a cool link though - I'll have to check it out.
