Clippers turn?

The new look, Los Angeles Clippers, in an effort to shore up our perimeter defense, inject some youth, and maintain playoff veterancy, are very happy to announce the arrival of:

Thabo Sefolosha!!

2nd Team All-NBA Defense..decent shooter..great teammate!

One of my faves. And a name that sounds like a skin condition.

I thought about Thabo last round but passed on him for Turner's potential.  I like him a lot as a complementary piece.  Nice pickup for the Clips.

Thanks...trust me, the Clips owner was on my behind for letting EGor go, so I think I am getting back into his good graces, now ;D

Great pick for you. Wanted to take him but I needed the offense.

Thabo Sefolosha was a guy I was strongly considering as a backup choice to Shawn Marion with my third round pick.

Excellent value for this stage in the draft.

Not only is Thabo an elite defensive wing who can cover all three perimeter positions but he is an excellent rebounding two guard (best in league last year, one of the best this year). Above average rebounder as a quick forward too.

If he ever adds a jump shot to his repertoire, Thabo will be one of the very best role players in the league.

As it is, he is a very good complementary player.

Any consideration to having him start at the 2?

Major consideration, there. The guy started for OKC last year, and made a name for himself as a defender who didn't need the ball in his hands, but yet could score enough to keep defenders honest.

I still want Dunleavy to get a lot of touches, though. He's always impressed me with his scoring ability.

I liked the way Jim O'Brien was using Mike Dunleavy this season.

He started Dunleavy whenever there wasn't a major scoring threat on the wing + started his best defensive wing when there was and used Mike Dunleavy as his sixth man.

I thought that worked well for the Pacers.

I don't think that's true. I think if he scored enough to keep the defenders honest, he'd still be starting. 6ppg in 28 mins is pretty poor, and while his %'s aren't terrible, they're more the product of mostly taking shots he knows he can make (think maybe Marquis) than him shooting adequately.

I would be concerned about Thabo playing alongside Baron Davis and Hedo Turkoglu.

His lack of jump shooting ability will significantly decrease the effectiveness of Hedo Turkoglu's pick and roll game. There won't be enough floor spacing on the perimeter + your big men don't have much range on their jump shots either.

It will limit Hedo's best asset (pick and roll playmaker).
