Sixers need a big, and will continue the youth movement by taking a guy who's quietly doing pretty well for himself in his rookie year.  Unfortunately his team sucks so no one's hearing about it, but his numbers are almost identical to Greg Monroe, who most are very high on.

With their 5th pick, Sixers select Ed Davis

Great pick -- I was hoping he'd be a guy that dropped and could pickup later.

Ed Davis is an above average defender + rebounder at the power forward position.

Offensively, he is still a work in a progress but he plays within himself (makes good decisions, takes good shots, very efficient in what he does try to do) + reportedly he had a midrange jump shot in college so that will probably be added to his arsenal over time.

Having an underrated rookie season. A quality rotation player already and setting a nice foundation for himself to become a quality starter for many years to come.

I was surprised he lasted this long. Love him as a player, brings enough energy where he's ready to contribute immediately.

I like him too - he had some attitude issues his last year at Carolina, but I haven't heard any issues there in the NBA.

He's got the talent to be a high-efficiency scorer who can rebound and defend the 4 or 5.  The accumulation of 1st and 2nd year guys isn't ideal but we have a good vet presence and I can see this team gelling very well over the next 2-3 years.  And if nothing else we've saved the Fake Sixers a ton of salary.

I think Ed Davis is too small to defend the 5. Needs to be kept at PF.

Agreed. His offense needs to develop a little as well. Still, great pick for FWF, definitely on my short list. He can grow into an impact player and is already suited for rotation play on a good team.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

The Golden State Warriors select Gary Neal.

Excellent pick. If he was there at 6(7) on Monday I would've picked him.

There has been a trade:

Dallas sends: 5(21), 6(1)
Phoenix sends: 5(13), 6(13)

Does that suggest that RR picked him about two rounds too early, then? ;)

Modest gain for Phoenix. I like starting the 6th, and I needed to buy some time to determine my next pick.

Hat tip to Chris.
