After considering a number of options (and changing this post at the last minute), Philadelphia will (re)take a prospect at the wing in Evan Turner.

With reke and evans at least youre sure that
You dont have a clue what youre gonna get

We are blowin it up in Philly, and let the shrapnel fall where it may.

But Turner has improved his game significantly recently and we are optimistic about his development into a versatile guy who can play at the 2 or 3 situationally.

Yeah, there is no reason to close the book on Turner yet...you just had to turn down the "Brandon Roy V 2.0" comparisons from earlier in the year.

Ah well, I was hoping he'd be a guy who'd drop.

Even if Turner doesn't get his act together as a scorer, he'll still be a very nice multi-dimensional role player. A an above average defender, terrific rebounder and good passer. Versatile (position wise) too.

Nice player ... his current level of performance is underrated due to the high level of expectations.

I agree, we have our #1 scorer in Tyreke, we want Turner to be a complementary player who can do a bit of everything for us.  That's what gave him the edge over (Mystery Established Defensive Specialist) in the end.

still both tyreeke and turner seems to be in a todlers

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
I guess I should take a big man. This guy is ok, I guess. He's big and had a good couple years before Sacramento's frontcourt got crowded, and he's still young and cheap and went to the same high school as a girl in college that I really wanted to sleep with.

Jason Thompson

CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

  • Ainge *still* has a Posse! Ubuntu Y'all
get ready...........

with the 9th pick of the 4th round, the CHA BOBCATZZ select arguably the most talented player left on the board

Gilbert Arenas

---------------------
with a pick like this you almost have to address the concerns, even though i think there's some intransigence to folks' opinions about certain players (see: Williams, Mo among others).

Not that i'm scared by the haters: i took Gil in the CelticsBlog draft this summer as well (though later traded him) and thought it was the right pick then as now.

in 14 games as a starter this year Mr. Arenas has averaged 18.8 pts/6.4 asst/3.6 reb/ 1.5 stl and 2 3-pointers -- so he's clearly back from his injuries.

All of those were alongside Kirk Hinrich (11) or John Wall (3); In the 3 games with Wall, Gilbert averaged 21 ppg, while Wall averaged 9 assists. So I think it's fine to slot Arenas in at the 2-guard alongside DJ Augustin without hurting either's game.

Yeah he's a handful at times (along with being a mercurial talent), but Gerald Wallace isn't gonna allow any shenanagins on his team.

(and...... BASHING...GO!)

All over North Carolina, people are locking up their shoes.

See, GC? You left the door wide open for that.

Come on, man, you're better than that.

You're right.... I *AM* better than that.

Darn it i'm smart, i'm handsome and i believe in myself. Right assistant GM Stuart Smiley?!!!??

I'm not scurrrrrred.... Nothing can stop the BOBCATZZZZZ!!!!!

It's like we're wearing bulletproof vests.... wait, bad choice of words.... The stink just won't stick to us... ugh, this *is* hard. Remember you can't spell CHARLOTTE if you'er missing an A-C-and-L..... NOOOOOO!

kidding aside, Gilbert's 80% of his former self, which is still a starting level SG in the NBA in my opinion. there were a few other guys we thought of but we'll nab them later.... the later rounds is where GC shines...

DIRTY SOUTH REPRAZENT!! BANG!

How awesome would it be if this was the kind of stuff we heard from the podium in a real draft?

The LA Clippers, looking to shore up their Frontline with experience, toughness, and a potential starter if need be - select:

Kenyon Martin!

His stats do not look impressive right now, but as he rounds himself back into playing shape from his injuries he will provide valuable leadership and defensive contributions to our team.

Interesting pick. Martin is a bit of a lockeroom rabble-rouser and he has a tattoo of lips on his neck, but if he ever gets back into form this is a great pick.

Yeah that tattoo is certainly interesting, I must say. I'm sure it has some meaning for him, whatever that may be.

He's already averaging 8-9 rebs in about 21 min of play, so he's getting back to form.

So far this season in an average of 21.7 mins per game, Martin is averaging 5.9 pts and 5.1 boards.

If you take out the first 7 games where he averaged less minutes, he averages 24.3 mins and gets 5.8 boards and 5.9 points.

As of right now, he's not a rotation player yet, IMO.

You're right - I edited my first post.

He'll get his legs back as the season wears on.

Is this referring to the pick or to the girl in college?  :)
