Maybe its not entirely Nate's fault. He does take some quick shots (like as soon as he crosses half court) from time to time, but I always here Doc saying that they're telling him to shoot. I guess he needs to be a better judge of when. It must be hard trying to be aggressive offensively when you've got the big three on the floor, but when their shots aren't falling (how many missed layups by the big three last night?) somebody's got to generate some buckets...Isn't that part of the reason Nate is on the floor? Otherwise they'd just let Pierce or Marquis play point.

If you wrote this 3 months ago, I'd agree. But lately Nate is just being wild. Every game he goes for the heat check. Problem is that he's never hot.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

When Nate was with the Knicks he did run point but in the Knicks system that he was basically a SG because they didn't strike me as a play running team at that time. Also if you were doing good you had more minutes, so some nights Nate turned in 40 minutes, so nights 10.

Celtics are a play running team offensively and I think that hurts your rhythm, and as someone else said when you're a role player it can be hard to get into one. I think some things he does well gets overlooked like his defense did get better and can change the shots of players cause he reaches in and tries to steal the ball.

I believe he'll get better when West comes back simply cause he has to. The weight won't  be there... he'll be subbing in for Ray who is more like him cause Ray is a shooter.

Lastly I don't see how someone could say he has no basketball IQ but hey when/if he turns it around I think the haters will tolerate him. There are a few Celtics players I don't like at all but oh well... there on the team and right now are playing well so... it's all good.

Nate was great today, I give him lots of credit for being patient and not forcing the issue. I think that's all we need him from him, a few shots and a little intensity/excitement.

Eddie House was a three point specialist and that was an easier role to fill than the PG/Spark Plug they ask Nate to take sometimes.

I also like the fact that Nate took it to the whole for a change.

One good game does not wipe out a season of ineptitude. Let's see if this play continues or he reverts back to missing just about everything he puts up.

Nate seemed to do OK today. Maybe we need Rondo and Nate to work together to see Nate can be a back up shooter to Ray Allen. We saw a little of that today. Nate will work hard on defense and make steals but there are matchups he struggles with.

I have not given up on Nate but I am not that sold on him yet. I just pray he sticks his jump shots.

You have to take the good with the bad with Nate.  You can't jump on his bandwagon after game like today and jump off it when he shoots 0-6.  His game is a streaky shooter and not much else.  I was somewhat surprised when he turned down the open 3 to feed BBD in the low post.  But more of that (looking for better shots for other layers) would be nice.

I personally don't feel this type of player fits the Celtics team first approach, but I think we'll see less when West gets back.

he was definitely on point today. he made some tough 3 pointers. some days hes on like this, others hes not. we just have to live with it. against teams like the lakers, he can get extended minutes because their pgs are pretty weak. its against teams with the strong pgs that he becomes a liability on defense.

Made some good shots but also shot some head scratchers. Needs to be consistent in judgment. U r gonna miss shots, but make wise choices

Two big things to keep in mind:

1) Most of his minutes today he was playing off the ball either with Rondo or with Ray handling the ball the majority of the time when Nate was technically the "point guard."  Doc needs to keep this in mind, either pairing him with Rondo or letting someone like Ray, Paul, or Daniels handle the ball when Nate's in the game.

2) Nate plays so few minutes now that it's easy to understand why it's hard to snap out of a slump.  He literally plays in most games what Paul, Ray, or Rondo plays in a quarter.

Like other players on this team who have had to adjust to new roles (Ray's initial struggles here come to mind), I think Nate is going through some growing pains, learning how to be effective in the fewest minutes he's ever played in his career.

True, but it certainly helps that he stepped up in the biggest regular season game to date.  It's not like having a good game against the Bucks or the Nets.

That's Nate for you. People will want to trade him for a bag of peanuts when he's hurling bricks, and feel he's an anchor of the second unit when the same shots are falling.

Today definitely makes me wonder if West being out there with Nate can make him that much better.
