Get rid of Nate now. Zero basketball IQ. A complete negative influence on this team. He stinks

Dunno bout Nate...

We keep hearing 'When Delonte returns, he'll play better with him'

Is this really likely? Not saying West isn't a good play maker or anything but they didn't play a massive amount of games together.

I'm certainly on the more Von, less Nate bandwagon.

Im still waiting for a legitimate explanation why he replaced E.House...Nate hasn't proven anything to me that he was worth replacing Eddie for. While watching Eddie tonight basically closed out the game in their win over the Pistons it makes me wonder if there was more to getting rid of him than basketball.I still don't understand Danny's moves in this one.I watch Billy Walker contributing on the Knicks off/on and he seems to be steadily improving. Why did Danny pull the trigger on those two when he did for what he got in return is puzzling...and please don't give me that story about Eddie not being able to bring the ball up or Nate's a better pg.

Nate's shot selection when he is the point guard frustrates me.

Nate's play otherwise encourges me.

Heart is not a question. Neither is hustle.

Hero ball is the problem.

I wish I saw what you see to be encouraged. I see a guy who has no basketball IQ. I don't like guys like this on my team.

I like Nate and i'll stand by him, if it wasn't for him I think the ECF last year would have ended differently. He was okay until around christmas where the hot cold game seemed to hit him hard. He looks like he's scared to miss his shots right now. I don't know why Doc refuses to have marquis bring the ball up and run the offense, it allows nate to roam and find a comfortable spot.

I think Nate's slump is as much his fault as it is Doc's.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He'll get much better once delonte comes back.
He won't have to worry about handling the ball and will be able to drive and dish a lot more.
I'm just hoping he gets out of his slump soon because he is so frustrating to watch when he's missing his shot.

He is played like he needs to prove he can score.
Wouldn't surprise me if he's scared he'll get traded over the all star break. Once he knows his spot in the rotation is secure he'll be fine.

He's not a point guard and will be much better running with the second unit when delonte is in control.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I just feel like over the past he's been driving me nuts. He's taking tons of shots and missing the most of them. Not to mention he never gets to the line. Don't get me wrong, I love the guys energy he brings to this team, he's definitely great for the chemistry. But lately I feel like he's been a bit of an eyesore to watch. Anyone else seeing this?

I do.

He never had great basketball IQ, but at least he was fun to watch wih all his energy, treys shots and whatever.
Now he's kind of slowed down a gearshift or two, he's always struggling and the matchups.. well the matchups..
The Celtic in me.

I saw Nate at the bank a couple days ago in Waltham. Perhaps I should have mentioned a few things then  :P

The only issue I've had with Nate is that he shoots too much, especially when he was starting in place of Rondo. His percentage from the field killed the team.

But he's a role player off the bench and I don't expect him to be an All-Star. Sometimes it can be hard to "get going" when you come off the bench.

Hopefully his sport in the rotation will be 5 minutes a game or less, unless there is lots of garbage time. While I hear the issue that he is not used to bringing the ball up and that is disrupting his shot rhythm, he continues to miss wide open shots when he is not bringing the ball up and when he is getting passes coming off picks, etc. Right now he stinks.

And I'll say it again, until Delonte gets back (and maybe even after) let Marquis Daniels run the point.

Doc's done this before, I don't know why he's gone away from it.  Marquis is better served running the team than shooting jumpers and Nate is certainly better served scoring than running the team.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Maybe its not entirely Nate's fault. He does take some quick shots (like as soon as he crosses half court) from time to time, but I always here Doc saying that they're telling him to shoot. I guess he needs to be a better judge of when. It must be hard trying to be aggressive offensively when you've got the big three on the floor, but when their shots aren't falling (how many missed layups by the big three last night?) somebody's got to generate some buckets...Isn't that part of the reason Nate is on the floor? Otherwise they'd just let Pierce or Marquis play point.
