Are we really winning? While playing this badly??

unfortunately it encourages our players to maintain the mediocre play because they know they can still win. Walton's right, the celtics toy with teams and don't focus against poorer opponents.

I agree with you...I hate this attitude.

Just my opinion - with the exception of a few box-outs missed, The Celtics are playing hard. Portland is always a tough out in Portland. LaMarcus is a really good player, Przbylla is back, and they are trying to out-run us.

My take? Portland is trying their best to beat us, and we are still winning, taking their best shots so far.

And Perk has been a Beast!! Without his hustle, we may be down 4 instead of up 4.

Good points.

Rebounds 29-21 overall. Portland is spazzy but can be dangerous. Aldridge is a nice player.

Yeah I really like Aldridge. Wouldn't mind seeing him in green and white somewhere down the line.

right now, Aldridge is too long and athletic for any Celtic player except KG. Perk still needs minutes, and they're without O'Neal brothers.

Celtics focus in 2nd half and put away the game  ;)

well, I'd say they are without Shaq, I don't count JO anymore, I think he's done

I still hope JO can give something in a PJ Brown role, but you might be right... was a nice pickup, but could end being a fiasco.

for the last time, when someone makes dumb plays, there is nothing wrong with saying it. I didn't use any foul language or anything, I commented directly on his play, so lay off it.

You realize we can all see the quoted sentence "making shots doesn't cure stupidity" right?

You could just say "mbad, I meant 'making the shot doesn't mean it wasn't a dumb shot'" and be done with the whole argument instead of trying to argue that sentence never happened.

I stand by my sentence, I never pretended it never happened, and what I said was not wrong

Congratulations, then. Enjoy your awesome argument.

I'll enjoy it more when Nate's on the bench for good.

Dude, move on... just watch the game.

it's halftime ;D

Given the offensive deficiencies of the bench, when Nate is in there with the second unit, he should be taking most threes that you would want Ray Allen to attempt in a similar situation.  Agree or disagree?

disagree. I would want to see plays going to the basket to utilize Davis and Perk (or Shaq), and see Daniels get more shots in the post. Nate is nowhere near Ray Allen's league and is also much much shorter, making it tougher for him to get good shots off.

I think the Celtics execution is more the problem than the effort--too many dumb turnovers, brainfarts on boxouts, etc. I'm not seeing the Celts quit running on defense or anything like that, they're just making dumb mistakes. Hopefully they clean it up and don't let Portland rattle them.

I disagree we've taken Portland's best, though. They're amped up and flying around like crazy but aside from a bunch of offensive rebounds they don't have much to show for it. They took 50 shots and only got 37 points.

Ok - the absolutely most hilarious thing about this game is that Przbylla has only 1 foul.

That's Comedy Central right there.

I'm starting to lose respect for Pryzbylla...he'd better be glad Shaq's not out there.
