I wouldn't want anybody who's goal is to be a career backup.

Me neither.  Of course that was made up by the poster, so Rubio is safe.

Ricky Rubio has yet to make his NBA debut, but that may not mean he isn't ready, at least according to Kobe Bryant. Bryant isn't among Rubio's critics. "This my third time playing against him, and he is definitely ready to play in the NBA," the Lakers' star said. "The kid can play. I felt like in the Olympics he played very well and showed a lot of poise and he reads a lot of things that average players don't."

Kobe seems to love Rubio. My problem with Rondo is his FT% and potentian "hack-a-Rondo" in crunch time.

You go to Minnesotta in a heartbeat?  Hmmmm.  Anywhere else you go in a heartbeat? Siberia maybe?

Juuuuuusssssstttt kiddin. Well. No I'm not

For an NBA contract?  Yes.

Get in the NBA and then work your way out to a place you want to be.  Until you are there and unhappy, why would a lotto team trade you?  Your value will come from playing on the court.

I'm interested to know if you felt this way say when Eli Manning said he refused to play for the Chargers.

And one of your other comments about the NBA not missing him, you're right, they aren't, but he's not missing the NBA either I'm sure.  He's one of the biggest stars over in Europe, and can make a ton of money just staying in his home country.  I'm sure he does want to play in the NBA, but he doesn't need to.  I'm not saying what he's doing is right, but it is what it is.

Charger's made the choice to trade him.  Manning put the hat on and held up the jersey.  Then he got traded.

If he wants to stay home, that's fine.  If he wants to come to the NBA, he has to deal with Minn.

Of course, nothing he said in this article suggests that he "wants to be a career backup", but don't let a little accuracy get in the way.

i dont want him.  I could see him turning into a Andrei Kirelenko.  He'll have a few good years, but when things dont go right for him he'll pout bc he cant do what he wants, and that he wants to go back overseas so he can 'have fun'

Buyer Beware.

Hi everybody!

I wouldn't trade Rondo for Rubio, not a chance even if Minny throwed Kevin Love. Why not? I have the feeling we haven't seen Rondo at his best, to me he's the next Bob Cousy. Another reason: if Rondo was traded to Minnesota, he'd be headed to the Fakers (please, Danny, don't do it!)

Now, as a Spanish fan, I'd love to see Ricky in green, He and Marc Gasol are the Spanish players that would adjust better to the Celtics philosophy. He is a great defender, and is having poor stats because he's still adjusting his game. It doesn't help a lot he's playing alongside Navarro or Mickael, whose game involve a lot of playmaking.

He is also learning and improving. Barcelona's GM is Joan "Chichi" Creus, one of the all-time best PG's in Spanish league. He  managed to play at pro level from 1975 to 1999. He lead Manresa (little team from a little town 30 miles from Barcelona) to the ACB title in 1998, at 41 years old. He is one of the smartest players I've seen on a court, and he is making Ricky work out to improve his game. We've still to watch the real Ricky. He's maturing also, and time will help him to avoid the "highlight" passes.

If I was Ricky, I'd stay in Barcelona to get some winning and crunch-time experience. Rudy Fernandez still doesn't get it because he played for Joventut, and had little winning experience. And then, if the T-Wolves are still in Minnesota, he will have to play for them. Right now, he isn't a starter in the NBA, so he needs to improve to earn a starting spot, even in Minnesota.

Brandon Jennings isn't a bad player, but Ricky will be a far better player than him when he comes to the NBA

To be even more accurate, nothing at all that Rubio said is in that article.  The quote is from "a senior member of Rubio's camp."

He hasn't shown anything.

What we do know is his lack of a shot hurts him in Euro-style play.  (just like it would hurt Rondo)

We don't know how he looks in the NBA style of play.
