I really do feel bad for this guy. He's given the Pistons nine great years, and now even with the proposed three-way Melo deal done, he's still being benched. I've never liked the Pistons, but I've always had a lot of respect for Rip. Unlike a lot of players today, he's not crying to the media or starting any trouble in the locker room. Instead, he's simply kept quiet about the whole thing. I've always seen him as a class A player and person and I think it's really disgraceful how the Detroit organization is doing this to him after all those great years he's given them.
I know he may not be the same player he used to be, but you would think Dumars and the rest of the Pistons front office would show some more respect.
