This works on realgm.com tradechecker.  I would ONLY do this after West is back.  This gives us a legit back up SF that knows the Magic intimately and can help guard Lebron if we meet Miami in the playoffs. 

He is in the doghouse in Phoenix, but is a very tenacious defender and a good long range shooter.

I like it.  In that case, make Von Wafer your back-up PG.  I think he's got the ball handling skills to do it.

I proposed this awhile back.  It would be contingent on Phoenix's desire to field undersized back-courts.  They did it back in the day with Eddie House and Barbosa.

Nate was a -5 vs the Jazz. Our only player who had a minus last night. He had 6 fouls, 2 TO's, and 0 assists in 17 minutes.

how about this trade

Celtics get : T.Prince
Pistons get : J.Thompson, J.O'Neal( i put JO for the salary to match i don't know if he can be traded know)
Kings   get:  N.Robinson, L.Harangody

We get our wing that we need plus he has expirience and he is great defender. Detroit get's Thompson who has great talent and he will play with Monroe. Kings get Robinson to back up Udrih and Harangody to back up Casspi. If needed 2 round picks can be included. Trade is succesfull on trade machine.

Sometimes we want the perfect team,which we can't have . But it's nice to dream.

IMO our needs are a legit backup pg  then an athletic wing.
We get down on Nate but we're playing him out of position at the point. I worry that we are going to wear Rondo out by playoff time.

Are we certain D. West can fill the role of backup pg or is there someone better out there.

Thoughts?

I didn't think Phoenix would have any interest in this package right after they made the Vince Carter trade ... but if Pietrus has fallen out of the rotation, permanently, they might be interested in taking on Nate in a salary dump ... to get rid of Pietrus' contract.

Never liked Pietrus.  Seems like a low IQ player to me.  That's probably why he's in the doghouse. Probably making a lot of dumb plays.

I know it's stupid, but I would feel really bad trading Nate. I think he really likes playing in Boston and knows his career was turned around by coming here (not statistically). He obviously hasn't quite lived up to expectations, but he played so well in November. Maybe he only plays well when there's a reason to be excited (playoffs, start of the season, etc).

With all that being said, I like Pietrus a lot. He is a very good defensive player with a long range shot. He would really fit the Posey role well.
