How's Your Love for Big Al These Days?

His jersey hangs on my wall, but to tell you the truth I havent even given him a thought all year. Actually I havent even looked at his stats or a box score of his all year long. Hes become a forgotten player for me.

When KG came to the team I was like "I think we should see other people".

We just sorta drifted apart. He's still a Facebook friend and sometimes I like his photos but we don't even chat anymore.

I hope he's all right.

This saddens me. I guess he's a forgotten player for a lot of people. I personally still remember and look for all those players that were around during the "dark days" when we were the laughing stock of the league. Pierce and Big Al always gave it 100% every night in and out regardless of the score. Granted, he wasn't always the best player on D, but he's been coming around this year and flourishing alongside AK47 on the defensive end.

I would LOVE to see him back in Green one day and finally get the 'ship he deserves.

Still undying.  The hope he represented for the C's as a rookie (getting minutes in round one of the playoffs vs indy) has been transferred to the hope I have that he succeeds.  I have scoured ebay to scoop up some Cs jerseys of his (still looking for his rookie #8 one).  I agree his development is not as great as I hoped for and I don't believe he'll ever be a fantastic defensive player, but I root for him more than I root for anyone else other than the Celtics as a team.

When KG got traded, I was one of the people scared to lose the future.  While the title was great and I wouldn't return it, and while watching the cs compete in the playoffs for the past few years has been fun, I miss developing with youngsters.  I'm a sucker for potential and I have a real hard time with grizzled, aged veterans (R Wallace, J Oneal, Shaq, etc.).  Something fresh about low expectations and surprises, as opposed to high expectations and meeting them/let down.

I feel exactly the same way. I loved rooting for Orien Greene, Marcus Banks, Tony Allen, Gomes, etc. It was a fun time, even if we did lose 2/3rds of our games.

Love Big Al. Brought me hardcore into the Celtics (I was a fan as a kid, then lost track of the NBA for a couple of years), and brought me to CelticsBlog because my roommates and friends didn't wanna hear about a team that was in last place. Followed him as a T-Wolf (T-Wolve?) and I follow him on the Jazz.

It saddens me greatly as well. I was a huuuugggeee big Al fan and was pretty upset to see him go even if it was for KG....Man how quickly i got over that feeling.
