It would be almost impossible to trade Noah now, due to his extension and the "poison pill" rule.  It would take a lot of other players to somehow balance things out, and that probably wouldn't work to Chicago's benefit.

I do think they made the wrong call extending Noah for the amount he received, and for extending him at all before they fully explored the Carmelo situation.

Chicago totally dropped the ball and it'll cost them.

Melo's not going to Chicago.  That Noah extension did the Bulls in.

Trade Boozer for Melo

Denver gets a star player to build around and keeps their hopes of playoff run alive ... and Chicago gets a superior player to build around. Move Taj Gibson into that starting slot. Try to trade Deng for a pair of superior fitting supporting cast members.

The Bulls have spent years looking for an elite post presence. Now that they have one they should hold on to him.

That won't get them over the top in the east.  Prob leave them roughly the same as they are now.  Possibly a couple of wins better.  They may have a conference final run in them if the cards fall right but I see that as the ceiling right now.

They should've moved Deng + Noah & pieces for Melo instead of giving the Noah extension.  They could've stopgapped at the C position for a season and then made a run at someone down the road. *Cough....Perk....Cough*

I know Boozie is great and put tons of stats but right now Melo is more of afranchise player for them, specially considering Boozer injury pronning and thaat they have a great pg to match with Melo, and still have Deng and others to fill blanks, and taj is still servicable, maybe with that two they can lure a dwight too, or at least a David west? or a mad Gasol ;)

Yeah the Bulls arent going to let Boozer go especially when they just made a splash for him this summer. Boozer and Noah down low with Gibson off the bench is pretty good for the front court.

Noah is the key to Chicago's success. He does all the things that noone else wants to do. Decent defender, very good rebounder... Boozer is a scorer who can't defend, same with 'Melo, same with Rose.

If Chicago could get Melo for Deng they should do it. But i agree with Noah being too much.

I'd do this in a heartbeat, CHI would probably need to throw a first at DEN to make it happen

What they really need is an upgrade at shooting guard; someone like aaron afflalo would be awesome there. They have Charlotte's 2012 1st rounder, their own firster, and the moveable contracts of scal, korver, johnson, brewer, watson and the asset of Gibson (filled in very well for Boozer), as well as free agency. I say they should take their time, and use exceptions/minor trade assets to get a strong 2 guard for their starting 5, and this would help them much better than swapping Noah/Deng for Melo then trying to patch SG and C and defense around that.

Potential fits:
Free agents:
JR Smith (range and spacing as a true SG)
Shannon Brown
Azubuike
Jason Richardson

Available via trade?
OJ mayo (scary on chicago)
Corey Brewer (Meh)
Iguodala (Gibson, Korver, Brewer, Pick?)

Shane Battier would be an interesting target too. Free Agent this summer.

Also, Omri Casspi. He'd be a lovely fit in Chicago. Nick Young would be another good name.
