Thanks for heads up!

Add Milsap to the list of guys who would look good in whatever color the bucks have.

Does anybody have a good reason to take Josh Smith over Al Horford or Joe Johnson?

Aren't salaries supposed to matter?  If so, JJ has one of the top 5 worst contracts in the league IMO.  I'd target drafting him somewhere, but he wouldn't be a top 2 guy for me.

NJ Nets are tentatively planning on keeping Devin Harris and Brook Lopez.  Definitely open to offers for Harris and Derrick Favors.  Suppose it couldn't hurt to at least listen to offers for Lopez also.

It was tough choosing between Millsap and big Al, but I think for the way I want to go, Al has greater upside.

Depends on how you view Johnson, and how you view the team you want to create.

To me, Josh Smith has never been a #1 scoring option of a winner, and there is no way that you can land all 3. Joe Johnson can and has been the leading scorer on a consistent division winner, but inconsistent playoff team. And a 20pt, 5 assist 6-7 multipositional swingman is hard to find.

You want to trade him to Phoenix?

Just kidding.

Unless you're going to do it. Then I'm not.

My friend and I have always argued about D'Antoni styled offenses and my friend always argued they will never win because they're not big enough to match up in the half court.  For some reason, I've never put a lot of thought into J-Smoov playing for one, but he's like the prototype.  I'm surprised I haven't heard a single word about a fast paced team making a really hard move for him.

What is the deal with salaries btw?  Is there a hard or soft cap?  Or are we basically just being judged in relation to our salaries?  (i.e. Team A slightly better than Team B while spending $15M more would be less desirable)

Well again, there isn't any actual 'judging' per se.

But, salaries are most relevant to your style of play. You want a contender, you're probably going to cap out...no hard cap or anything. You want to start a young team, maintain flexibility, maybe try affordable and rookie contracts.

Plus, I think you'll find that while its not hard to reach the salary cap, it is difficult to get too far into the lux tax.

Spurs are still fielding offers for anyone interested in any of their "big 3".   Any of them can be drafted off the top and traded for the right price.

Big 3?

AND....

???
timmy, manu and parker.

I don't understand how Josh Smith isn't kept for Atlanta.

I could see him on my team :). But why do you think he can't be a win now team?

Not really very efficient.  Hasnt made it out of the second round of the playoffs. A high flyer but not really any defineable go-to offensive skill set

You put him on a team with a PG, and I think you've got yourself a team.

He's top 25-30 in efficiency rating (I'm not an expert with those) and he's definitely skilled. LeBron couldn't do it by himself so I don't think Smith can but I do think he can be a very nice piece of the puzzle. You may have a point because I think he currently has 2 very skilled guys with him and they haven't succeeded but I still like his skill set.
