Baby is back on the bench, Finally.

There was only so much of baby starting that I could take.

Baby did what he was supposed to tonight, take a couple of shots, get a couple of rebounds, get a couple of hustle plays, get a couple of points. He didnt really have a great game, but hes a bench player and he isnt going to be consistent.

Welcome back KG, its amazing how much you do for this team.

<3 me some bbd. glad to have KG back, dont get me wrong. but I was proud of baby's play. Yea, he had some bad games, but like the previous poster said, he was stepping into some mighty big shoes, and he wasnt getting to just play PF, he had to play center every now and again as well. He's short!

He's far better as a big off the bench. He could last another decade in the league at this capacity.

I'd like him to remain on team but think his personality will take him to highest bidder when free agency arrives.  As a pf sub who can give you minutes at c he's perfect for us.  As a starter he's flawed and can't start for a upper tier team (us, if we are to win).  Maybe the vets can talk him into resigning in Boston and in 2 - 3 years he'll have improved his game and can start.  I know  chances are slim with I don't know my role glen davis but I'd welcome him on bench (at a price)  I don't want him starting for extended periods.

The starting 5 are the key to this season and right now things are looking good there.  I wouldn't mind having Baby back at the right price, but Perk's the higher priority.

Sure, it would be nice to have Shaq grabbing 15 boards a night, but who really cares how many he's averaging as long as our team rebounding stays similar as to what it was?

Last season we averaged about 38.6 rebounds per game. Our opponents averaged about 40.1

This season we are averaging about 38.0 rebounds per game. Our opponents are averaging about 38.5

We're getting outrebounded by a smaller margin this season than last season, so....

Given KG's improvement from last year we should be even better than that. Getting Perkins/Shaq to play all of our C minutes will be a huge help for our rebounding.

So because we stink less than we did last season, it's ok not to solve the problem?

Fact is, the opponents have been staying in games because we allow them second and third-chance opportunities. And the biggest reason for that is the fact that Shaq has become progressively worse in his rebounding and defense as the season went on (hello, 2009-2010 Cavs).

So while his 20-point outbursts are commendable, his role needs to be limited. The sad part is, Shaq is in no condition to carry even the second unit on his shoulders, so his offensive efficiency will likely drop dramatically when Rondo is not out there to find him for wide open dunks.
