Well, I take Doc's very last sentence there at the end "different degrees of pain" to be a good sign. To me, this means that sure JO had pain last night, but let's say tonight in CHI his pain is minimal - to the point that he can be effective for us.

JO's impact for Boston has been displayed - he is maybe our best low post defender off the bench. He can sub for Center and PF. His play in our NOH game last week was a reminder for me of his effectiveness.

Some nights he can help, others he may not be able to. That's ok. I say give him spot minutes for next few months, then have him in hopefully his best condition for our playoff run into June.

The MLE thing is unfortunate, but at least he is giving an effort. I can't blame his health for him not trying at least, which he is.

Pathetic - if he has to sit out long stretches weeks etc than only play a few minutes every now and then he's useless. He will have no rhythm and be rusty everytime. He should have retired last season anyway to dump him and get Sheed?

How is it "pathethic"? It's no JO's fault if his body is breaking down (or has been for a while), you can be mad about it but you can't blame him, when he is playing he plays hard and through the pain.
I don't know I just have a feeling he knew he wasn't or going to get healthy dating all the way back to last season.

TP from me also.  It's a shame that JO was the best available big out there for the MLE but his effort over the last few games looked worth the gamble ... it may still be.
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Jermaine if healthy would be a very important piece to Boston, yet he still bad knees,I think it has to be an important man for the playoffs. I hope your knees get better, but this is difficult because it is chronic.
Perk is a mystery, Jermaine's not right in his knees ...

With all this, the Celtics should consider the return of Sheed.
