(1) D.Harris + Q.Ross for Rip Hamilton
(2) T.Murphy + Favors + Vujacic + Humphries + 3-4 first round picks for Melo + Billups
New Jersey NetsPG - Billups, Farmar and Uzoh
SG - Rip, Morrow
SF - T.Outlaw, S.Graham
PF - Melo, D.James
C - B.Lopez, J.Petro
That would leave the Nets playing a lot of small ball. No out and out power forwards on their roster.
Brook Lopez is having an awful season on the backboards and has never been a strong rebounder. Neither Billups or Rip, or their backups, are strong rebounding guards. Carmelo Anthony is the only above average rebounder at his position (SF) and he is below average for a PF. The Nets would be hugely vulnerable on the backboards.
They should be very talented offensively though, a top ten side. Possibly a top five side.
And defensively they should be respectable, likely middle of the pack.
In the short term, they look quite similar to Knicks.

Firmer foundation to build around in the immediate sense ... but given the ages of Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton, how much of a window does that group truly have? They can flesh out the rest of their roster well enough to put a contender on the floor before those guys finish up?
Doubtful.
