Still saying....the harping on his lack of rebounding in a few games is silly/negative when he has played so well this season.

You're on a blog where people are talking about trading away Rondo to improve our offense. Get used to it.

If you traded Rondo for Durant do you not think that would improve our offense?!

Obviously they wouldn't do that, but you can't pretend that this isn't something that could improve the offense of the team, especially when the big three are gone. Rondo and Perk wouldn't exactly scare the league with their offensive firepower!

As far as BBD, I am very impressed with the gradual progression of his game. He hasn't been shooting the ball real well lately, but his overall is getting better.

I don't mean to keep going on about it but really, scoring is not everything to offense.  The guy who leads the league in assists by 3-4 assists is simply one of the leagues best offensive players.  He runs the offense and allows all the other players to score easily.

Haha. I must have missed the "trade Rondo for Durant" thread. When was that?

I'm surprised it's that low to be honest.  He'll be breaking that sometime soon.  He's progressing so well as scorer from the jumper which is money to the fall away to lay ins using his body as a shield.  Quite a repertoire.  He deserves praise for all the work he's put in.  He came into the league with a below average jumper now it's a weapon.  He's a big game player as well.  He's very dependable and he's now the C's 4th best player and can be their best player and carry them on any given night.

Oh and don't forget those quick feet leading to outstanding defense.

Kudos to the Big Dog.

Not bad for a 2nd round pick.  DA wins again.

you know, the fact that 23 points was one shy of his career high didn't even occur to me last night and I think that says a lot about how far he's come on this team

he's no longer the young guy you pull for because he shows promise - he's a veteran now (far from perfect, but a solid rotation veteran player on a Championship team)

let that sink in for a bit and discuss

Jeff
After watching carefully the game I am pretty sure his role will be less by the end of the year is the other 4 bigs are healthy
His defense against biger players is not as good as garnetts, JOS and Perks. His offensive repertoir will keep him in the rotation but when thing counts we will rely on defense an size

Are you thinking BBD is better or deserve more consideration for JO for 4th big spot when perk is back or even over perk?
I am not sold just because he had a good offensive night and his mid range shots  and difficult turarounds were falling

And about being the Cs 4th best player thats a nono
healthy maybe but offensively rondo, ray, pierce, shaq, nate and probably quis are above him
not to mention DW and KG .

Big Baby stays behind KG if Perk comes back. If Doc wanted JO in there behind KG playing two positions like Baby has been doing some games, he would have put him in there. BBD has been the predominant choice for PF behind KG when JO is available.
That's all I'm saying. I see JO or Shaq being behind Perk or playing Perk's position, if need be. That's basically the same as it is now.

Totally reasonable
but with JO with full legs and other team playing taller PFs like
Gasol
JO is a better matchup for resting KG

The rebounding thing is weird.  BBD has never been a great -- or even a good -- rebounder, but the last two games have been an anomaly.  His two lowest rebounding games of the year have been these two most recent games.  I'm not sure if he's changed his approach, or if it's bad luck, superior competition, or something else.

I do wish BBD was a better rebounder overall; he needs to learn to box out better, and he doesn't seem to have the instincts to know where the ball will be before it actually has fallen off the rim.  Still, I expect him to be a lot better than he has been the past two games.

It's the old double-edged sword though. If Baby were a good rebounder he probably would have signed with another team when he was a FA.

I thought I was using satire, Edgar, but I am sorry. You have sound opinions, of course.

Yes, I totally agree it depends on the matchups.

And I think BBD is a good rebounder, just not in the past few games.

It's true what Doc says Baby is not getting enough credit, he is a huge part of why our record is what it is filling the gaps VERY NICELY at the PF and C position. Where would we be without him the Oneals are too old and foul prone to rely on.

Give credit where credit is due....

He hasn't been for three years plus worth of games.
