what a joke

Yao Ming is the freaking Western Conference starter at Center right now

If you look at the other options, i wouldn't pick any of them either...

hahaha true
but still, freaking Marc Gasol should have more votes than somebody who has played 3 games this year

You can probably thank the Chinese population for that. Millions of people voting for very few Chinese players in the NBA. I'm surprised Yi Jianlian isn't up there in votes...
You can just thank the same people who kept voting Rondo when he got hurt.  This is the all star game!  No one cares if the guy they're voting for is actually playing! (or 5+ years removed from his last meaningful season)
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

After all of our injuries, why would you want Rondo to play in a meaningless game....another meaningless game...this allstar dookie is for guys on teams that have "no chance" of winning it all in the playoffs.  How about our guys resting the body...for THE PLAYOFFS....a nice week off to gear up for the only thing that matters...uhm, a CHAMPIONSHIP....who remembers lat years allstar game..vs last years champions..?
(and our injuries this year and last year!).
we are not asking our players to play heavy minutes, they usually play 10-15 minutes and its not a big deal, personally i love the asg, being a fan of the celtics and the nba, it is great to get to see your favorite players being honored by playing in this game, and from what i can recall most of the all stars that make the team enjoys being there, and i dont understand what you are talking about "guys that have no chance of winning it all" kobe was in the asg, he won it all, mj was always in the asg and he won it all, so i dont get ur point, shaq is always in the asg, even when shaq didnt make the asg a few yrs back he still attended the gm as a fan, so what im trying to say is guys love the asg and they are honored to play in it, i am sick of people that are afraid of their players getting hurt, when was the last time someone injured themselves during the asg, the asg is mostly for fans, it isnt that intense of a gm, the guys take it easy for most of the gm, so stop worrying too much and vote for the celts!!!!!!

totally agree

He's going to be there whether he plays or not AND he played for weeks on the same injury he's currently sitting out. People over-dramatize this "rest" that people take for the playoffs... teams have more contact in some practices than the All-Star game.

I want Rondo to make it because it represents his place as one of the best players in the league. When was the last time somebody got hurt in the all-star game?

Plus Rondo cares... he obviously wants to be voted as a starter over a player that everyone pits him against, even though he is clearly better than him.

Rondo could get 20 assists in an ASG.  Give him 20-25 minutes, with all the offense and no defense, he could pile em' up.

Derrick Rose is only 50,000 behind Rondo right now as a starter in the 2011 ASG. I for one really don't want to see D.Rose in there.

3rd Return Voting Results are in and now Rose has gained and trails Rondo only by roughly 12,000 votes. Bulls fans have been stuffing ballots it seems. If they can we can too. Text Rondo to 69622. you can use google voice for this as well. and use the above links as well. you can clear out the cookies on your browser to vote multiple times. after last's nights game and this season prior to his injury Rondo has proved worthy of an All Star start. Let's keep him ahead. Vote often and vote everyday. Only 17 days left to vote.

True, although realistically, what center on the Western ballot is truly having an all-star year?  Lots of bad choices this year.

They could have at least listed Duncan as a center, giving people the option of rewarding San Antonio's team play.
