SeanGrandePBP Halftime act at the Palace is "Quick Change". Perfect metaphor. No fracture, MRI Thu for KG. Players indicating its not as bad as it looked.

Via Washburn : A Celtics player indicated that KG's injury wasn't that bad and it may be a calf injury. We'll find out tomorrow #celtics

Let's use this time to generate positive energy.

Positive energy's a waste of time. If KG's severely injured, no amount of positive energy is going to change that.

I'm sure thousands of Mavs fans were thinking the same thing with the Dirk injury.  Turns out it's a minor strain and he'll be back in a few games.

Not everything turns out to be the worst case scenario.  The next couple days are going to suck, but this could be nothing.

Solid point, but you'll forgive us all because it's the same knee he injured so severely a year and a half ago.

In other words, the situation is a little bit different here.

according to wojnarowski, MRI is tomorrow. to the medical folks on this board...should you be able to suspect an ACL tear from an x-ray? or is the MRI the only thing that would show this?

This from Google.

Quote
No, xrays show bones and any possible bone chips in the joint. However, an xray may show a collection of fluid which could be the result of a torn ligament (an ACL will bleed into the joint if torn).

However, a qualified orthopedic surgeon can usually do hands on maneuvers and tests to see if a ligament in torn (for the knee, examples are Lachman's, Posterior Drawer, Pivot Shift).

A mri is usually need to confirm and it shows everything including soft tissue like ligaments and tendons.

no. they prolly x rayed lower leg and ankle to eliminate those. mri will show tear...swelling will be key...but i can guess at the least...boston will shelf KG for the next few weeks. they can survive without him for the the month of january. schedule is pretty kind...spurs, magic and lakers are the biggie

Just to give the flip-side to "players say it doesn't look so bad":

KG's injury in 2009 didn't look so bad at first, either - iirc he was doing stretches outside the locker room right after - but he ended up missing the rest of the season.

We simply won't know the severity until there's an MRI and there's been some time to assess how KG feels.

They should use Harangody in the second half. His shooting ability at the four could help the team considerably.

Big Ben isn't an offensive threat. They could Harangody on him.

Where is Semih? Ever since Doc took him out of the lineup Celtics haven't looked the same. JO is worthless and brings bad karma.

FREE SEMIH ERDEN!  ;D

He is out sick again

sick meaning not dressed or active. Now I'm going to shed a tear.

Well let's win this game. There's no point in dropping a perfectly winnable game when with KG or not we're still in a tough race with Miami for HCA. Let's get this game..
