(1) KG out for season -- title dreams over

(2) KG major injury, returns late in season hobbled, playing similar to last season -- title dreams hurt but the team is still able to win a title with that KG. They have significant reinforcements vs last year's squad and they'd still very much have a chance at a title.

(3) Minor injury, no change at all (here's hoping!).

pretty much it in a nutshell

Where is Semih? Ever since Doc took him out of the lineup Celtics haven't looked the same. JO is worthless and brings bad karma.

FREE SEMIH ERDEN!  ;D

He is out sick again

Let's use this time to generate positive energy.

Positive energy's a waste of time. If KG's severely injured, no amount of positive energy is going to change that.

I'm sure thousands of Mavs fans were thinking the same thing with the Dirk injury.  Turns out it's a minor strain and he'll be back in a few games.

Not everything turns out to be the worst case scenario.  The next couple days are going to suck, but this could be nothing.

We'll lose tonight, but probably win the next one...for the next few months, we should all get used to win-one-lose-one.  Just like last year.  Sigh.

rondo is slated to come back Friday? still we HAVE to get JO to contribute esp with baby moving into the starting line up

Forget about JO.. He seems to have 2 shiftgear less

Would they have allowed him to walk around on his own if it was the knee or anything substantial?   :-\

Gives me a little hope in addition to the negative x-rays

Dirk doesn't have a surgically repaired knee though, right?

I would gladly take that. Heck, I would take having both of them out for 2 months as long as they come back healthy by then.

TP for talking me out of screaming about how we're all doomed and giving a little hope.

All of you who are saying the C's can survive without KG are forgetting that he is the anchor of our defense.  Without KG we're an average offensive team (at best) and a slightly above average defensive team.  Not good enough...that equals out to .500 basketball the rest of the way, if we're lucky.
The Celtics were a very good offensive team + an average offensive team without KG two years ago.

I would expect a repeat of that if KG was out for a lengthily period of time.

Once Rondo comes back of course, the team will struggle offensively until then.

according to wojnarowski, MRI is tomorrow. to the medical folks on this board...should you be able to suspect an ACL tear from an x-ray? or is the MRI the only thing that would show this?

That's usually how it goes for this team. C's weren't even fully healthy until the playoffs last year.  :(

that doesnt mean anything, then why didnt they assist him to the locker room??  If Ed Lacerte diagnosed him on the court or bench, they wouldnt have taken meaningless xrays either.
