  boston gets Batum
  trailblazers get Calderon,DeRozan and Von
  raptors get Miller,Rudy and harangody
boston gets SF backup that they need to give pierce rest. portland get rid of miller(because of roy) and fernandez who wanted a trade. toronto gets a post up PG since no one else in toronto will and a good outside shooter while moving Calderon(never had a good run at toronto). whatta you think??

Batum would be a great fit here.  I think he's worth a little more than Wafer and Harangody, though; neither of those guys has much (or any) trade value.

Here's an idea: Von Wafer (non-guaranteed contract) plus cash to Detroit for Tracy McGrady.

Detroit gets a decent financial return on a player who doesn't figure in their plans beyond this season (beyond February, actually).

Boston gets a backup wing who can create and score.

I have a feeling Wednesday night's game in Detroit may be an audition for TMac.

Sure I'd love Batum too but there are two players Portland will NOT trade, they have made known, and that is Aldridge and Batum.  Batum is a good prospect, and as much as I like Gody he has much more to prove than Batum does.

Im right there with you on this one. I wish some of his shots would land from 3 point distance. He attacks the rim pretty well and does some nice moves.

Im hoping with some more time he can pick it up and start doing well.

Entirely possible, look how long it took TA to earn Doc's trust last year.

Having Wafer playing well on both ends would certainly help the team a lot, even when West comes back. On nights when Nate is off and not hitting shots, being able to put west on the point and still have 2 3-pt shooters on the floor at all times is a great weapon. Line ups of West, Wafer, Daniels gives you decent size, shooting, and speed at all 3 Guard/Wing positions. Would love to see that.

I'd rather see a trade for a backup PG than sf/sg.  There's no guarantee that Delonte will be healthy the rest of the season, and Nate has been playing some really bad basketball recently.  I think any decent backup PG could succeed right now with the starters, at least more so than Nate is currently.

My fear is that Wafer is a guy who might need to get in a rhythm before his shot starts falling, and because of his skillset - average to below average d - he needs to be more of a microwave shooter.

We're not getting him.

Tracy McGrady is just plain cooked. He's a liability on defense and has to have the ball in his hands on offense. He'd be a terrible fit for the C's.

I think you're right, he is probably average now and he's an all around player with no great strengths but he is very young (like 21 I believe) and he has a lot of potential.  His shooting should improve as he goes along and he has a good frame and is a solid athlete.  Not a guy that blows you away but I think he should become a real good player for them in the future.  I assume he has a good head on his shoulders too for them to think so highly of them.  I don't think Portland is a stupid organization, that's for sure.

...I kinda do.  Some people might say they have had bad luck, but I tend to think they took too many risks with injury prone players, and are now in a position where most of their assets have been devalued.
