I know Orlando wants/needs another big. I doubt they would be trade partners with us, but JO would definitely fit a need for them.

Also, I was wrong about JO. I just don't see him really being a help to this team. I think he is washed up and is just drawing a paycheck. He is not what this team needs anymore. When Perk comes back and with Semih, I think unloading him at the deadline would be a big plus.

Thoughts?

Would I trade JO for Redick? Yes,

Would Orlando? No.

Does wanting to trade JO for Redick automatically make JO washed up? No.

I wouldn't, I'm not confident enough that Perkins/Shaq/Erden can man the C position.

No.

Orlando needs a big man more then Boston needs another SG.

While it may improve Boston, it improves Orlando more.  (fit wise)

Not a chance. Why help the team we are going to most likely end up facing at some point in the playoffs? We loose length and give them the length they need. I dont like it.

JO will be more important to give us an edge in length when we face the Heat, Magic, or Lakers in playoffs.

Nope. He is obviously rusty, but he will pay big dividends down the stretch for us.

Not particularly fond of JJ Redick.

I'd rather take a chance on Jermaine being healthy come playoff time.

What about JO and Von Wafer for Jeff Foster and AJ Price?

I was going to say I don't like his contract, but I just looked it up.  Its a two year deal with a third year team option. Pricey in that its for 7,6,6 million for about 20 total. But his third year can be voided if the team waives him in July of 2012.

If Perkins/Shaq weren't big injury worries I'd definitely consider it.

Although I like Redick, I wouldnt want to help Orlando get its backup Big that can help them beat us. Jermaine would also would know what we are running and disrupt things. They cant beat a healthy Boston team with 4 Bigs to throw at their 1. Jermaine, SHAQ & Perkins is Orlando's & Dwight's Krytonite at the moment. Just point to his Performance Sunday without Perkins available.

The real question should be this: would Orlando trade JJ Redick for JO?

I think you would find that the answer is a big fat NO. At this point, he is worth more than a has-been big man who just came off knee surgery and is yet to make any meaningful contribution to this team.

How does having somebody who never plays change increase your confidence?

Just curious.

Well I saw him on the court Dec 25th so you're incorrect on "never plays" point.

I think we need two high level C's to rebound and play defense, particularly in the post, to win a title this year. We have three players who meet that critera on the roster (Jermaine/Shaq/Perkins) and all of them have injury wose.

I'd rather take three gambles needing two to succeed than just two gambles.

I agree, and on top of that, trading JO to the magic would eliminate their biggest weakness since their revamping, backup center. No way, let them find a backup to Howard from someone else.
