I know we lost badly to the Magic - because well we played poorly on the offensive end. The shooting, ball movement, turnovers and energy expended on the offensive end was not acceptable for the Celtics. Not having Rondo probably hurt us but Nate Robinson should have been able to step up and knock in jumpers. Shaq also had a terrible game letting that referee distract him. He knows better than that. Referee politics is not conducting the Boston pops, buddy.

In the 1st four minutes and the last 4 minutes of the game we were dominated 28 - 3 because the Magic hit some outside shots and we had no answer for that.

Last year we beat the Magic badly on Christmas Day and then went on to lose to the Clippers and Warriors to start that hideous slide. Last year, injuries and apathy bit us big time.

This year I think the team will get healthier sooner and flip the switch sometime around my birthday or 33 days from now on their 1st west coast trip which is late this year. Plus we have the Old School KG back, Rondo entering his prime, BBD having his best season and emerging as a star on this team, Marquis Daniels contributing, Nate Robinson and even Avery Bradley adding some energy.

We will need all the resources we can muster to beat Miami who look superb right now until somebody figures out how to slow them down enough. The Lakers certainly looked incapable yesterday of beating the Magic let alone the Celtics, Spurs, Mavericks, Heat, Thunder, and yes the Milwaukee Bucks ;)
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I really don't think much of anything about yesterday because both teams mostly played badly and we didn't even have our best player.  If you're playing without your best player then you don't put that much stock into it.

We lost badly to the Magic?

We only lost by 8 after having a lead for a majority of the game, I wouldnt exactly call it loosing badly... I would call it a bad game however. Both teams played a terrible game and the Magic were able to play the last 3 minutes of the game harder than us. To say we lost badly to a team that was shooting a shade above 30% for the first three quarters doesnt really cut it. Both teams played poorly and the Magic were able to win the game by playing tough for three minutes.

It was a bad loss because of the meltdown in the last 2 minutes, but meaningless in the big picture...

Our third string pg (who has been starting) had a bad shooting night on the same night that ray allen shot poorly.  Our normal backup center (4th string) who has been playing was out, our other center hasn't really played this year.

just the law of averages. can't win em all. This was one game however where Robinson doesn't score enough he becomes a liability. That wouldn't happen with Rondo because his skills are far superior to Robinson. His timely assists and rebounding help the Celts conserve energy.Timing was off and it made the Magic defense look better than it is. Allen, Pierce and KG need the ball on their spot.

I don't like NBA refs. With 3 refs working games the results suck. They are too busy looking for cosmetic fouls like celebrating or making facial expressions after a call. Amoung many bad calls was the non call on I believe Turkolo running KG down on a break away.

Not at all ... it was a "let-down" game, and EVERY team has a few of those during the season ... we'll bounce back easily, and in a big way, no doubt.

It was a bad loss but we certainly didnt "loose badly"... If anything we had control of the game for about 38 to 40 minutes of the game. The first 6 minutes and the last 2 to 3 is what killed us.

It wasn't a bad loss.

It shouldn't have even been a loss.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't understand how a team that has won 14 in a row can actually have a bad loss -- especially when 1/3 of its regular rotation is out injured.

It's definitely possible to have a bad loss... getting destroyed by NJ, Sac, or MN would be a bad loss. Yesterday, however, was no such thing.

Yesterday's game will prove no effect on how the season turns out.
