So Jermaine has practiced a few day in a row and declared his knee ready for game action, at which point he says he doesn't feel well and missed last night's game with flu like symptoms.

My friends and I find this hilareous.  The guy is truly a joke.  We saw Paul play through sickness a week or two ago.  Jermaine looks for every possible reason not to play.  I'm glad he is not the ONeal with the "Man of Steel" tattoo.  He must be related to Baron Davis.

Can I have the MLE, instead?  I can't play basketball, but I can show up and give you six fouls, which is more than we're getting out of JO.

YUP, this is the JO we all know. Not the one we wanted. How many sick days does he get...? With this type of representation, he could be a politician..! A lazy faker. If you don't want to PLAY basketball for $$$, what is left...?

Send him to HOUSTON, to replace Yao. I like Yao, but Houston wants ANOTHER break for him, they got one LAST YEAR....! Try Tiny Gallon, isn't he in the D league, 7 footer..?

Hate to say it, but I've always felt that JO likes the paycheck, but is not so crazy about the work ... I'm not surprised at how this has all played out, and I don't think Danny is, either ... he rolled the dice on hope against hope, and it's coming up craps.

He wasnt supposed to play in last nights game anyway. Id rather give him the rest til Christmas so he doesnt come back to early and ruin his knee again.

He said he played hurt against us in the playoffs last year and look how pathetic he was.

I say give him till the All Star break.  But once he starts playing he better man up and suck it up.  Take off half a season for something you get a 2nd opinion on and all say it is pretty much in your head...give him time to mentally heal.

J.O. has never exactly been durable, but this year has been a bit of an aberration compared to his recent performances.  He's played in 68+ games in three of the last four years.  This year, he'll play in a max of 62.

JO may be an awesome player, person and teammate, but he has yet to show any of that. It's hard not to speculate that he is lazy, but I doubt that's true. I think most nba players love the game and love playing. So maybe he is just past his prime.

I bet his flu-like symptoms were from dry heaving after realizing that he actually had to play a game.

I've never been a fan of JO's, but I thought that given a specific role ("you are not the superstar, just play defense and block shots") he would be a decent addition to the team.  But my opinion of him has been dropping every day.

Yeah, he's been frustrating this year to say the least. However he played a lot in Miami and Toronto without a ton of problems. I think he's just a little snakebit. I'm going to be a little more patient. He has sounded distinctly unconfident in interviews though..

I had a feeling that this was Doc's call. Basically Jermaine was slightly sick and since he JUST started practicing, Doc told him to sit down.

Maybe not but we are rolling right now and I don't want Jermaine to come back until he is absolutely fine with his knee. Same thing with Rondo or any other injured guy. We don't need guys playing through injuries right now, we have the depth to get the job done without some of these guys.

Once Jermaine gets back then it will be Shaq's time to take break (be injured). Same with when Rondo, Delonte and Perk get back.

I feel like we are trying to win as many games now while our big 3 is healthy because it is more than likely that they will all miss sometime after the new year so they needed to build a little cushion for themselves

Doc said on Friday that he's not likely to play before Christmas, so I don't see what the big deal is.

If he has "flu like symptoms" again on christmas, that's an abnormally long flu and i'll start to reconsider if I still want him here.
