Now that he's healthy, i wonder if he's gettable. he'd be a nice fit as a wing off the bench. since the wiz are rebuilding, would they take bradley for him? maybe bradley, wafer and a 2nd rounder?

Trade probably looks like this:

I'd wait to see exactly how healthy he is before taking a look at trading for him. He's only played limited minutes in two games so far.

No way do we trade Bradley for Josh Howard… You can’t be so near sided, Avery isn’t getting real minutes because he’s not ready and this teams has other options ahead of him. But just because he’s not playing this year doesn’t mean he’s not valuable to this team. Danny Ainge has to balance winning now with staying competitive after The Big 3 are gone. 20 Year old, defensive minded, guard, with tons of athleticism… sounds a lot better than 30 year old, injury prone, offensive minded, winger.

Strongly dislike this idea.

Because Howard is on a one year deal if he proves to be a rotation caliber player I'd have no problems giving up Avery Bradley for him.

Bradley isn't the sort of prospect that you aren't willing to move to try and contend now, not with Rondo locked up. If he projected to a different position I'd probably be on your side of the suggestion.

I am not in favor of selling low on Bradley, but based on how Howard has looked so far in his return, he would be a guy I would absolutely trade him for if Washington would do the deal (doubt they would).

Howard is still a relatively young player, who could be looking at a big raise this summer as a major piece of some team.  If they could use him for a run this year, and then also have bird rights to sign him next year, it would be huge.

I think Boston signed Delonte after Howard resigned with the Wiz, but I wonder if Ainge had known that Dwest would spend so much time on the shelf he would've made more of a push to get Howard?

And with Wall there, Boston would have to include a 1st along with Bradley and Wafer to get the Wiz to even think about this trade.

Isn't Howard 31 years old?

I don’t think he’s necessarily a point guard.

agree but this is the best idea i've seen in trades for quite some time
If we could keep howard beyond the year then he would immediately help us, bradley at best isn't going to see pt of note for 2 more years.  We'd have wingmen subs of marquis & howard.  That to me is a big upgrade.
When our big 3 have hung them up I seriously doubt any draft picks we have now or nearly all the bench players we have would be able to step into starting roles and keep us at a high level.  When ray, paul and kg are gone we'll be looking at top level free agents to put with rondo.  Or trading prospects and draft picks for vets, ala ray & kg.

Why will anyone trade a rotation player for a pile of non-factors?

Thanks for the props. Because Wall is a 1, not sure Bradley is appealing to them. But I'd trade Bradley or a quality player who can help right now in a heartbeat. It's not about Bradley -- just feel we need to go all in on Banner 18 this year.

you mean a guy on a one year deal who has played in 2 games for a rebuilding team going nowhere this year for a couple of young assets and a pick? never seen a GM trade an unneeded vet for assets?

Ugh. Same ole story...Aint broke, dont fix it... Over valuing our players, why would the wizards want bradley and wafer for Howard? Ugh.

what are the chances howard bolts from washington when his contract is up? if i was him i'd be out as soon as  i could so they are essentially going to lose him for nothing
someone smart can get the specifics but bradley is in rookie contract so 3 years? he's under contract, has potential, wafer can play for washington right now, they can release him or put him in as trade fodder for something else.  Again this is all if howard is healthy enough.
I don't think its that crazy of a trade.  If I'm washington I'm looking at getting rid of contracts, losing and pairing another good draft pick with Wall.  The highlight of their season is wall and getting rid of arenas, actually trading him not releasing him  ??? someone in the nba wanted him
