Frankly the first Pirates movie was a tour d'Force for Depp because not only was it a remarkably realized character but it was refreshing to see one of the great character actors (in my mind the greatest) of this generation give a performance of that magnitude without having to find a character who plumbs the depths of human depravity to deliver. It was the acting equivalent of Jordan shrugging his shoulders.

This made me download (er..rent?) POTC Curse Of the Black Pearl, so I could watch it again.

I'm lovin the relatively older timers bringin in the Steve McQueen's and Robert Mitchums....that is just bad azz.....really shows the difference between actors back then and now in my humble opinion.
