Ive watched every game this yr and I love our team, all the players except Ive still learned to like von wafer yet, in my opinion we do not need him so why not bring back antoine, he can still play I saw him in springfield he carried his team finished the gm wit 27 pts, i kno its just the deleague but that is still impressive, why not give him a shot it would be great to win a championship wit toine, we dont need wafer

You're going to get ALOT of crap for this post BUT...

I like the idea. Toine is good friends with Pierce and Shaq so i don't think chemistry would be an issue. Although he was in a limited role with the Heat in 2006 he played a huge part in their championship run because he's a GREAT motivator. He always has been since his early days with the celtics. It's undeniable that he'd have more of an impact than Von Wafer but please, TOine...NO THREES!!!

I love the idea, I would love to see Toine win a ring as a celtic, especially with Pierce and Shaq on his team, but asking him not to shoot threes is like asking a fish not to swim.

Let me start with the crap part of this thread.

Are you kidding me?

Toine's time has come and gone and the last thing this club needs is the baggage that he brings. So he put 27 points up in the D League. Do I really have to list the multitude of players that have scored 30 points in a D League game only to never be good enough to get a sniff at a cup of coffee in the NBA?

Come on. This Toine love needs to be put into your nostalgic past and left there. Enough with these ludicrous "Bring Back Toine" threads. Please. I beg you!!! Stop them please!!!!

No.

If we are looking for a backup SF, we should strongly consider making a strong push to acquire Josh Howard from the Wiz.

Why waste a roster spot on an old washed-up Toine when future superstar GERALD GREEN is just waiting for the first GM smart enough to spring him from Russia?   ;)

bro first off its a forum i can write whatever i want, secondly u need to chill out and calm down before u have a heart attack, ur obviously not a true celts fan, i love toine, ive been watching him since 02 every single gm, he was very fun to watch even though we werent as good as we are now he brought lots of enjoyment to my life i remember all those gm winners he had especially the one against the lakers during their 3 peat that was awesome, third r u tryna tell me toine wont benefit this team at all, he is only 34 and he can still play obviously he is ouuta shape right now that is why this is a "comeback", he is VERY experienced, he was a pretty big part of that championship team wit the heat in 06. Dont forget that pierce and tione carried the c's to the eastern conference finals, like i said he is very experienced and say we bring him back we are not asking him to play the same role he did, he can replace von wafer who i dont like at all, plus toine deserves a second chance, everyone makes mistakes, why not give him another shot he is always a celtic in my mind, wafer isn't

Let's get rid of all the non-Celtics and sign Walter McCarty, Dee Brown, and the immortal Gerald Green. Celtic Pride!

Hey genius, when you put on a Celtic uniform, you are a Celtic. Von Wafer is a Celtic. Nobody cares if you don't like him. And Von can contribute more than a washed up old player like 'Toine who should have retired with some dignity.

this is a fan forum, not a literature class. He expressed himself clearly enough imo.

Von Wafer is terrible, and has contributed nothing to the celtics so far. Toine contributed years of great memories with a playoff run, the greatest comeback in NBA history at that point vs the Nets, countless game winners, and of course, many shimmy's. That is priceless. Mikki Moore and Mark Blount wore the uniform before but I don't have to cheer for those losers either. If Wafer sucks he sucks regardless of what team he's on.

i think if we can have scal on our team for 3 years contrubiting nothing, we can make room for antoine. von wafer we dont need, he hasnt played any significant role and thats with delonte out. Besides, he wouldnt be playing any major role. he can back up pierce, and if needed pierce could move to the 2 and toine play the 3

exactly. I would love to have Josh Howard, and even Dwight Howard, but we don't have the pieces to get either one without hurting our team.
