  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I feel like Toine will have to die before these threads end.

then the "Reincarnate Toine" threads will start

I know that Hogwarts says we shouldn't use black magic, Harry..but can't we just this once? Can't we bring back 'Toine?

Sounds like Death Eater talk to me, besides, it would take way too many horcruxes ... I think Harry would say: "Reducto!" to that one. ;)

Dont forget that pierce and tione carried the c's to the eastern conference finals, like i said he is very experienced and say we bring him back we are not asking him to play the same role he did, he can replace von wafer who i dont like at all, plus toine deserves a second chance, everyone makes mistakes, why not give him another shot he is always a celtic in my mind, wafer isn't
Let's get rid of all the non-Celtics and sign Walter McCarty, Dee Brown, and the immortal Gerald Green. Celtic Pride!

Hey genius, when you put on a Celtic uniform, you are a Celtic. Von Wafer is a Celtic. Nobody cares if you don't like him. And Von can contribute more than a washed up old player like 'Toine who should have retired with some dignity.

Von Wafer is terrible, and has contributed nothing to the celtics so far. Toine contributed years of great memories with a playoff run, the greatest comeback in NBA history at that point vs the Nets, countless game winners, and of course, many shimmy's. That is priceless. Mikki Moore and Mark Blount wore the uniform before but I don't have to cheer for those losers either. If Wafer sucks he sucks regardless of what team he's on.
Then let Walker be the new Lucky.

The team isn't a halfway house for washed up former Celtics.

It is hard to take seriously the opinions of those who want to give him consideration due to his past. Those types of people allow past glory to blind them to present realities.

Fortunately, Danny and Doc are not among those people.

Great idea, because any time you have the chance to pick up the 29th ranked scorer in the D-League, you have to take it.

TP man you have no idea how much I laughed at this comment.  Ha I laughed for 6 solid minutes.

i think if we can have scal on our team for 3 years contrubiting nothing, we can make room for antoine. von wafer we dont need, he hasnt played any significant role and thats with delonte out. Besides, he wouldnt be playing any major role. he can back up pierce, and if needed pierce could move to the 2 and toine play the 3
perfectly said
You are agreeing that the past contract to Scal should have a bearing on who we sign now???

In light of Vin Baker and Mark Blount's contract, who else should we sign?

FYI, there is not reason to play Pierce at the 2 on this team. We have plenty of 2's. We lack 3's, not 2's. If Toine were on the team in your living in the past scenario, he would have to play backup 3 and would never be on the floor with Pierce. We would play West/Rondo/Ray/Nate/Quis and even Avery in the back court with Pierce before Walker were to sniff the floor with Paul.

It would take a barrage of injuries before Paul is the second smallest guy among the 5 we put on the floor.

Seems a few people are getting carried away with nostalgia.

Do you even remember last time Walker was here? He was forced to be strictly a PF and told work the post. We already have legitimate bigs who can do that at the moment.

Im not a big fan of antoine walker, but i do want another 3. There other options but not in free angency. I realy dont like von wafer, he seems lost and Delonte is a better player at that position and his injured and they dont get along anyway.

sorry but how many true 2's do we have? ray, marquis? von(who stinks) and then undersized guys.
Also all the guys you mentioned, are infront of wafer at the moment. I like pierce at the 2, its not his ideal position but if we found the right guy of the bench (not saying toine) whos to say it wouldnt work? antoine or no antoine, get rid of wafer

If Wafer could learn to wiggle he'd have just as much to offer to C's as Toine.  Maybe Toine could be hired as a wigglin' consultant.

haha i seriously rather have antoine just to be on the team and not even play then have von wafer

How many non-tweener 2's do you expect a team to have? Ray and Quis would be plenty if we had a backup 3 (which Walker IS NOT).

Also, Delonte and Nate have the talent to demand minutes. So we have Rondo, Ray, West and Nate in the backcourt. There is zero need to put Pierce there also, especially when Rondo, Ray and Pierce will be playing more minutes in the playoffs.

Do people remember watching wings blow by Finley? And Finley really is a wing.

I am still withholding judgment on Wafer. Remember Nate for much of last year? It can take time for guys who play like them to get accustomed to a system like ours. I am skeptical that he can every be a good enough decision maker, but I trust the Celtics to know when to cut bait. Not something to stress over.

Regarding the 'undersized' concern, I need to see teams exploiting the size different before I get concerned.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Guava I think ur missing my point. I actually agree with you. I'd like quis at the 2. I want another 3, walker can play the  3, he wouldn't be needed to play any more then 7-8 a game if that. Without trading one of our so far impressive bench members, what is a better option at the 3. Id love to get posey or a solid vet who could step up come play off time. I realy like our team at the moment, with perk still to come back. Why about baby at the 3? Has he played there before?

I think there is something you guys ARE NOT GETTING. Von is a what, 12 or 13th man? He's basically a Michael Finley, who didn't do anything either. He only gets 3 minutes of PT so don't expect some amazing flash of greatness from him. Honestly he's pretty good for a 13th man from what I've seen and he's starting to show some hustle on defense:

Also, I believe this guy will begin to show some true hustle, and if he doesn't trade his sorry ass.

If Wafer could learn to wiggle he'd have just as much to offer to C's as Toine.  Maybe Toine could be hired as a wigglin' consultant.

What for the cheerleading squad?

Call me a sentimental old fool but I hope Antione gets another chance in the NBA - somewhere. I bet he shows up in Sacremento or Portland.
