Rumour that Charlotte are shopping Wallace and Jackson.  Where would they likely end up?  Some suggest Jackson at the two in Chicago.  Wallace to Utah for AK47 - doesn't sound likely to me ..

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I'd love for Gerald Wallace to somehow end up here, but that is next to impossible.

I think Stephen Jackson will be moved but I doubt Gerald Wallace will be.

G.Wallace is still somewhat young (28), has a good contract and has more value as a player than as a trade asset. It's very unlikely that they'll be able to find a trade where they could improve their team by moving Wallace.

Stephen Jackson is starting to show his age and is on his way downhill. He is paid a lot of money. They won't get much for him in a trade but he's a good candidate to move if they want to restructure their team because he's too old to stick around long term.

Davis + 2011 1st round draft pick + cash for Wallace?  I'd love it if they could pull that off.

I'd love it if it was legal in the trade machine.

No one is giving us a borderline all star for Glen Davis.

TP for a nicely thought out analysis.
I agree that for the Bobcats future, the best bet would be to move Steve Jackson.  There's the saying that you never get full value back when you trade a player, but Jackson is the type of player that would get closer to full value on than Wallace.
Celtics fan for life.

Gerald Wallace is Available

With the team mired in a disappointing 9-16 season -- which includes two
losses by 30 points or more in the past six days -- management has begun to
gauge the trade value of a number of its players, including Stephen Jackson
and Gerald Wallace, two NBA sources confirmed to the Charlotte Observer
Thursday.

perfect backup sf
Is JO + XXX for Gerald Wallace feasible?   :P

Add Charlotte to the list of third team candidates for the inevitable Melo trade.

They don't have any of the type of pieces that the Nuggets want.

They might get involved in a three team trade, but that's it.

Sorry my wording was a little hazy, that's what I meant to infer.

Ah I see, I was reading it as third option to the Nets/Knicks dual offers.

I'm sure CHA would offer both Jax and Wallace for Melo.  The numbers work.  DEN would turn it down if it didn't include a pick, but they'd surely have to think about it.

Or, a Jackson/Wallace/Diaw for Melo/Billups deal works as well...not that Melo would take that deal, either...or anything going to Charlotte.

But really, it's not that CHA doesn't have what Denver wants, it's that they don't have what Melo wants.

Two proposals to get GWall that work, one that might get him and one that likely would not:

Big Baby, Jermaine, Avery Bradley and a first rounder for GWall  (likely will get laughed at by EVEN MJ).

Big Baby, Perk, and Bradley for GWall (Jordan might actually listen to this IF Perk gets closely inspected by the Charlotte doctors and passes.)

I think if Wallace does go, a bad contract will have to go with him, like Matt Caroll or Shaun Livingston.  That would add another $3.5-4.3 million in salary to match...

Since MJ is always looking to save money, I think any offer the C's could make would have to include both Wafer and West, both of whom CHA would cut to save money.

Our best trade-up offer would involve picks and our bigs:  BBD, Perk, and JO.  Their salaries add up to money, and both BBD and Perk are expiring.  And since only BBD actually has played, the team wouldn't be worse than the one we've been watching (which is pretty awesome).

So our best offer would (IMO) be Perk, BBD, JO, West, and Avery, plus a 1st rounder and all of Wyc's money** for Wallace, Livingston, and Kwame Brown.

It ain't happening...

**I have no problem throwing $3 mil of Wyc's stash in pretty much any deal, since it's his and not mine, but I think if we do want to include JO in a deal, that's what we'll have to do.
