Wow. I thought the refs were going to count that. Get back soon rondo, but my guess he is out 3-4 weeks

Refs tried their best but even they knew how bad it would if they let that be counted.

Or, you know, they wanted to make the right call  ::)

They sure took their sweet time with that considering it was pretty obvious.  ::)

Very amusing game, a great win and huge last 2 plays by the Captain, both on D & O!!! but that Rondo injury makes me worry a lot... ::)
let's hope that doc is gonna keep him out for as long as its needed and not rush him back!!

that was a fun game thread, guys, goodnight everyone...

I don't fault KG for leaving Amare open on that.  I think he knew that if Amare was going backwards, there was no way he could get that shot off in .4 seconds.

Also, while the national media will give the Knicks all sorts of credit for playing the Celtics close, they really shouldn't get anymore credit than the Sixers should get for their narrow loss last week.

If Shaq is healthy (and let's not even talk about Jermaine and Kendrick), this is a double digit win.  Not only does Semih Erden hurt them, Shaq and Baby knowing that they can't get in foul trouble changes the way they play defense on Amare.

People are going to overreact to how "well" the Knicks played tonight, but they simply are not that good. The Celts had NO centers tonight and a one-legged point guard in the fourth quarter and they still scored 118 points to win. The Knicks are a novelty act in the NBA.  That is all.
The Knicks are a tough match up for the C's, our lack of a true backup SF hurts a lot against them. Plus we only have one player I want guarding Amar'e....

Stern is seething right now.

As for Rondo, am I the only one that saw how much he turned his ankle? Am I the only one that saw that he could not move when he cam eback in the game?

I don't know.  The Knicks have impressed me so far this year.  Maybe that's because I live in NY.

In my mind, what it comes down to is that the Knicks are a good team, and the Celtics beat them, even though hurting.  I think it raises the profile of the W even more.
Celtics fan for life.

I disagree 100 percent. If healthy, the Celtics BURY the Knicls. The Knicks should have won this game easily tonight. They are not that good.

Refs did a good job in the fourth quarter, the only part of the game I saw.

Other than the non-call on Chandler for bumping and then blocking Ray and the call for Gallo that gave them a conventional three point play it all was good.

(and I'm not 100% sure Ray stripped Amar'e clean on another so it evened out)

A healthy Jermaine O'Neal on Amare would be dramatically better than what we had when KG wasn't on him.  Same with Kendrick.

Basically, half of the Celtics rotation is injured (if you include Rondo in the 4th quarter) and the Knicks still could not beat them. The NBA is watered down badly so the Knicks will beat all the bad teams.  They won't beat the good teams.

Hilarious bunch of dumb-asses in the most sophisticated city who thought that last shot went in before the buzzer.

But at the same time, I feel for the savvier hoop fans who've been priced out of MSG. What a joke.

Bill Kennedy was looking for a bad camera angle that he could use to confuse the other two refs
