Orlando gets: Gilbert Arenas
Washington gets: Jameer Nelson, Marcin Gortat, Mikael Pietrus

The salaries match up perfectly, and Orlando gets its scorer that they've been looking for... Washington would be picking up some nice pieces, and theyd be getting rid of arenas

Orlando would now have this nasty lineup:
1- Gilbert Arenas (backup-duhon)
2- Vince Carter (backup-reddick)
3- Rashard Lewis (backup-quen rich)
4- Brandon Bass (backup-anderson)
5- Dwight Howard (no backup?)

If I were Orlando I'd rather contend for a title than make that trade.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I'm okay with that trade--3 of 5 starters play 0 defense...nice!

Short term it will effectively kill their depth. Long term it will hamstring the Franchise carrying the Rashard Lewis & Gilbert Arenas Contract. The same problem Denver Nuggets have faced for few years now. They were handicapped having bunch of old overpaid players. It limited them from improving their teams. Disastrous predicament the Orlando Magic needs to avoid.

As a Celtics fan, I love this trade. It'll ensure Dwight departure. The summer of 2012 watch begins.

My thoughts exactly.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Hahahahahahahaha.... My thoughts exactly. Why would Orlando wanna screw up their chemistry to get a nucklehead like Arenas, get rid of Nelson, and screw their cap situation over for the next 3 years.

Pretty sure Jameer Nelson is a better player than Arenas on a better contract right now. There is a trade where this is worth doing, but it involves moving Lewis and becoming more conventional.
