After seeing the charge watch counter (which is fantastic by the way), I thought there is a counter we DEFINITELY need.

The Ray Allen countdown counter.

Reggie Miller has 2560 career regular season 3's.
Ray Allen has 2489 career regular season 3's.

At his current rate, Ray Allen, who needs 71 3's left, will get this chance by the time All-star break rolls round. So I'd see we get as many people to sign this to get the celtics blog guys to add this counter so we can count down this momentous record. Celtics pride is a lot about history, and this is a pretty big deal.

Also taking suggestions to what other cool counters we should have.

If IP is up for keeping it updated we could do it. There is also a Celtic Milestones threads in the past, we could create another one for this season.

When Ray gets within 50 I think that's a good time for a countdown.

agree - good idea - though it is somewhat manual in nature, so it might have to be updated after each game - don't expect realtime updates

The Celtics should have the numbers 1 to 70 (or however many threes Ray is from passing Reggie) courtside and X them off as he hits them in games.  Kind of like what they do in the playoffs for the games remaining until the championship.  It would be fun to see in person.  Maybe Ray could X them off himself during timeouts.

Ray now has 2,495 total 3 pointers made
He is just 65 behind equalling Reggie, 66 to better him
At his current pace (2.1/game) he would be breaking the record in 31 games, just before or just after All-Star break.

I wonder if he can break the record before the all star break will he still be snubbed?

I doubt he will break the record before they announce the 3-point competitors, that's a couple weeks before from memory. I'd love to see it again though! But if it's the All-star game you're talking about, I think the coaches voted him in the last 3 years running. Anybody got records on who was voted in by the people and who by coaches?

I was wondering what had happened to general Milestones thread from the past couple of years.  it would be great to see that thread restarted.

If you include playoffs, Ray (253) is trailing Reggie (320) in 3 pointers made. Ray would probably overtake Reggie with 2 more deep trips into the playoffs, he's made 55, 35 and 56 in the last three seasons respectively.
