Why's Perk on the list? Shouldn't Shaq be as well?

Perkins is a better player than Davis, though he's not an offensive scorer and thus isn't your prototypical "6th man".

My opinion is Baby will have a bigger role on this team than Perk in the playoffs. Perk is coming back from torn MCL and PCL. Celtics will bring back slowly and play him situationally. He won't be as important as must of us assume.

Just wait until Delonte gets back. he's the best guy coming off the bench by far.

I don't think there is one individual player who is most important.  Rather, we're going to need all of the main bench guys to step up at opportune times.

I would expect Shaq and Delonte to have the biggest bench impact, but Nate, J.O., and Marquis are all going to play big roles by the time the season is over, as well.

I assumed this meant "so far", as we have no clue as to when Perk or Delonte will be back, or what kind of effect they'll have on the team, so that's what I based my vote on.

There's just as good a chance he'll be starting for us by then.

If he doesn't regain his form this year, you could be right.

If that's true however the C's are going to be a worse team for it. When they're both healthy Perkins brings more to the table.

Which bench player, if he was injured and out for the rest of the season, would be the biggest loss for the team?  Marquis Daniels is the clear answer to that question.  Nate Robinson is a better player, but Daniels is more important due to his versatility.  He's not a great wing, but he provides good value for his relatively small salary.  He may be preferable to an overpaid all-offense, no-defense wing in the style of Corey Maggette.  Doc Rivers probably feels the same way, given his unwillingness to play Bill Walker, a guy who can score but appears to be the worst defender on the Knicks.

Nate, then JO when he returns.  Shaq will continue to start.

Nate and Baby are the most likely of the group to be healthy, so they get my vote as the most important bench players.

2nd most important player on the bench?

At this point it's Nate due to injuries but, the answer will change as the season progresses hopefully.  Not because Nate isn't important but, more so because I expect JO and DWest to play big roles off the bench when they are healthy.

Still expecting good stuff from JO, huh?  Not me, but whatever good play he gives us will be a nice bonus.
